My workout schedule was obsolete the past two weeks. First week I was out of town and last week, I was just lazy.
My mood plays a part, but I don't know how to force myself to get up and do something I don't really want to do anyway when I'm in a mood to not do anything..

Your not on your own I started back losing weight but my medication was changed and my body didn't adapt so I stopped it as I didn't want to do anything it made me feel like lazing with no go, so we both been the same, I'm going to gym later this morning to see if I can do what I did before and hopefully medication is out of the body as I feel not as tired, We all have a blip just try and work out what it may be and don't beat yourself up, just try a walk in the fresh air if you can, I wish you all the best it's a a good friendly group on here so keep posting we all here to help each other 👍
Oh I left my reply lower down it should have been to you direct, I've been in the situation you find yourself as I started losing weight and going out and about but new medication made me lazy and no energy so I've stopped it and trying to go back down the gym a little later as my strength was sapped from me, I know what made me weak so stopped it, is there any particular reason for you being like this? You'll have lots of helpful replies on here keep posting as the group will be here for you 👍Wishing you all the best M_anom
Thank you for your replies. I can see medication putting a stump on things for you- it makes a lot of sense. Hopefully its completely out of your system sooner rather than later!
I hope you were able to hit the gym like you wanted and your energy didn't give out on you. I went yesterday- water aerobics. It was an okay time. I look forward to my next visit.
Hi and afternoon from Wales UK, Yes the medication was 90% out of my system to exercise at Gym in the Town, I had the feeling you going through and it's difficult as it's like being in a rut, I've been there with no medical issue's and find I eventually just push myself into getting out of the house as I'm a different person now to what I was this morning 🌄 a feel of achievement and the mood is calm and happy, We just got to break the cycle which I know is difficult to do" but only we can change things. Hope you feeling better..
I had that feeling of achievement and a great mood right after the workout . For some reason unrelated, I am becoming unhappy . But yes, I am definitely trying to break the cycle .
How's it going M_anon? I've been to the Gym working out hard as possible but enjoying as well because I know its for me to lose weight and have a little muscle albeit it's weight loss is the No1 reason! I did 2 3 hour session's nearly and just a stroll today to pick up medication from Doctor's Surgery but I'm not losing weight at all it's staying around the same but I feel better in mind mentally and the X-trainer, Treadmill and sit down weights surely must be helping but not showing Yet.. I'm getting out that's important, Are you still unhappy and can I ask your age and your a female as I'm male so just wondering if you in forties maybe 🤔 Sorry if I'm weigh of the mark but I'd really wish at some point you would write back at some point to say you are feeling happier.. look forward to reply and we must stay strong 💪 🙏
Thanks for chat I just responded M_anon. Do you know why you are unhappy albeit better? Thanks for a kind words about exercise at Gym which helps so much and feel loads better mentally! Hey when your busy that's fine but you can workout at home and next time at Gym, I have more time than you so can exercise more often,, I wish I could wave a magic wan across the Atlantic Ocean ✨️ 😉 to make you feel happy 😊 Pleasing to read your better than before Thank God 🙏
That's because your a lovely human being of a woman, And we both on a journey that will have a positive feedback on the way until we reach our goal and keep moving forward looking after ourselves as if we can't then we can't help other's so we both in the same boat so to speak 😀 Be kind to yourself M_anon 💚
I am not on medication but this warm weather in the UK and I have read 3 books this week sat in the garden with the shortest of walks . Sometimes your body and mind needs that slight break from exercise . I have felt better mentally with a good book and fresh air . You will get back to exercise - in your own time .
Looking at your words "I don't know how to force myself to get up and do something I don't really want to do" really says a lot! You shouldn't try to force yourself to exercise just to lose weight. It will always be the first thing you drop as soon as you are tired/unhappy/bored or even reach your goal weight.Try to find something you love? Dont think of "exercise". Think of movement. What can you do that involves moving that you will actually enjoy doing.
I used to go swimming three times a week. I dont really like swimming. I dont mind occassionly. But it didnt stick despite the pool being a short walk for me.
Now I go to the gym. I enjoy it because they have wifi so I have saved my fave music videos to a "gym list" on youtube and watch them as I work out. I enjoy it very much. I sing along in my head and often am disappointed when my time is up. So for me I have found something that I enjoy and want to do no matter what happens with me diet wise (when I fall of the wagon food wise my exercise plan always used to fall too as both the exercise and diet were for weightloss purposes only). I also enjoy doing couch to 5k and walking my dogs.
Experiment. Maybe your thing would be dancing with music at home? Or going to a spin class or playing badmington.
When you find what you want to do (NOT wholly for weightloss) it will no longer be a chore!
That is ... a very good point. It's been said before, but never explained with just "movement" being the goal.
Music isn't really a dive in thing for me unless I'm in some of my emotions lol but that's not helpful when working out. I do have airpods in when working out but most times its just so people wont speak LOL I tend to watch a TV Show or something while doing cardio tho.
I don't dance well but I recently got the DanceDanceRevolution for the Wii and Just Dance for the Nintendo Switch. They are a good workout so I guess that can be something to try more often. I also have RingFit, but I haven't bothered it in a while.
I'm getting into both of them this week. The idea of moving a bit isn't so dreadful as working out. Or intimidating as working out to loose weight. .
I am glad. A few diety-minded programs now say "movement" instead of exercise. I think for some people the word brings up bad memories of PE sports days haha. Or just feels too controlled and just like with restructing food the body(mind?) does like to rebel against any form of control! 😄
Yes movement just as good as excercise at Gym and if it's outdoors for a while it's even better, just like housework is therapeutic I find as not only cleaner but helps with mindfulness I find.
