Days 5 and 6 - the ultimate test - Hangover!

Ouch! My head hurts, feel poorly, craving something dirty with cheese on it! Was woken up at midday, with the words "I'm going for KFC do you want some?" Fat Becky was saying "ooh go on, have one, you've done so well"... everything inside me was screaming YES! ..I said no!

Its been very difficult to stick to the plan today, craving chips! Think I've done OK, just sandwiches with wholemeal bread and homemade cottage pie for tea, drinking fizzy water with apple squash to quench my dehydration! Top tip for anybody wanting to keep good on a hangover - watermelon! Keep it in the fridge, chop it up and munch on it when getting a food craving, its sooooo nice, fills you up and quenches your thirst.

Hey Becky, you did good girl. Love watermelon too. Needed this info when I had sugar withdrawl when I decided to eat healthily.😄

Watermelon, feta cheese, black olives, cucumber, mint, lemon juice and olive oil dressing (with salt and black pepper). Mary Berry to thank for this one :D

Oooooh I'll have to try that!!

in reply to

I can't imagine Mary Berry often has a hangover ?!! :-)

I know where you are coming from, but apparently she likes a drinkie. How much and how often is another matter. Perhaps she turn into Les Patterson after a sweet sherry?... ;)

in reply to

Of course - I forgot she is always quite partial to the alcohol laden bakes in GBBO :-) The Les Patterson alter ego image is more disturbing though... :-D

Haha! ...who is Les Patterson?

Australian cultural attaché to the Court of St James - a creation of Barry Humphries (Dame Edna Everage). Hysterical but not for the faint hearted... ;)

Thanks for the melon tip, I will definitely be doing that. I am so proud of you for saying no to KFC, this just proves that you are determined and can do it. I look forward to seeing how your first weigh in goes x

I am SO proud of you for not caving in to the KFC hangover cure !

When you are feeling that way it can be so so easy to just think "Stuff it - just for today" so well done - its a real achievement :)

That is amazing. Well done! I know when I have hangovers I struggle to say no. Doesn't help I live with two slim men who can factor in a massive hangover takeaway if they want once a week.

Thank you for the watermelon tip. I'm out drinking next Friday so will make sure the fridge is stocked :-)

Just was going to say what the last post did stock up fridge with item you need before going out. My husband is on the Keto diet our house is is cleaned out of bread ,pasta's. beans. potato's., he has lost 60lb's. I still eat carb's he can have a limited amount on the diet high protein, high fat, low carb. I know a good diet plan has started here on line I have not explored it since I do not need to lose weight. Just suggestion some of the recipes might work to help with diet.

Love the watermelon great for hydration.
