That's half the battle isn't it. Educating the people you live with to accept what you are doing. When my dad comes over for the weekends, he's learned that I am quite happy having fruit and fat free yogurt for lunch when I give him anything and everything to fatten him up. He just accepts now that I won't eat pies or cream cakes and he doesn't even offer them now!

Aw yes! I completely understand. Just need to stay focused & remember your personal goals and aspirations 😊

Not quite there with my mum and dad....what magic did you weave?

I just told Dad that it was my choice to eat more healthy food to enable me to lose weight and not compromise my health. I wouldn't force my diet on him and didn't expect him to force his diet on me! Mutual understanding achieved! Good luck.

Mum, dad, hubby, inlaws...all healthy and slim...all feeders...however, you're so right...it's our choice to eat it. Thanks, frustration can get in the way of logic.

Yes it is difficult. My mum was never over 8.5 stone and when she was ill Dad's weight dropped to barely 9.5 stone so now I live near him, I took on the role of feeding him up. So there was him needing high calorific food and me needing more or less the opposite. He is now almost 11 stone and about back to his normal weight but it's been jolly hard work and just needed him to accept that my needs were/ are different to his.

My husband works abroad but still encourages me and that's all we want isn't it. Encouragement and support to feel happy! I just say to Dad that I will go to his for dinner BUT please don't do me any potatoes or dessert because I don't want it. He has learnt now that what I say I mean. Oh if only life were simple!!!

Hi Candystripe, sorry to be insensitive. And so sorry to hear about your mum. Your doing an amazing Job with your dad. I do realise that the only reason the people who love us try to feed us up is because they love us....I will take a leaf out of your book and just keep gently reminding them.

You're not being insensitive at all, quite the opposite. Please don't think thst.

Yes it is because they love is and we are their children, no matter what. Just chip away and ask for their help!

Have a lovely weekend X
