I managed to lose 3 lb this week and have finally hit my 50lb target (well technically 51.5 lbs). So it has taken me 28 weeks to shed that lot. I managed 2 stones in the first 14 weeks and 1 stone 9.5lbs in the second 14 weeks but I did have a holiday and piled on a bit so overall I am pretty chuffed with my progress so far.
Still hoping to get below 20st before my holiday in 5 weeks time - that is 12lbs so not hugely confident but I'll give it a go
As a reward for hitting the 50 I bought myself these lovely boots - had problems fitting into ankle boots more recently due to my ever increasing weight and ankle (or the shops making the boots smaller - that's what I told myself) so very pleased these fits so well.
Hope everyone else is having a good week and that you all have a fab bank holiday weekend

Marvellous, Sueper; and what a groovy pair of trotters you have there. You are doing so well
Amazing! That's an incredible achievement, you must have been so focused this week to make sure you hit the 50 mark that you massively overshot it instead! Lots of luck for the next 12lbs. It's certainly possible to lose that in 5 weeks, and good to challenge yourself with a new goal straightaway so you don't get complacent while you're strutting your stuff in those new boots
Liking your new profile image too, that's a pretty impressive looking chunk of metal. Kind of looks mini in that circle but I'm guessing if I tried to pick it up it would feel like it was superglued to the floor...
I LOVE that you gave yourself such an awesome non food reward for your hard work.
SO well deserved - you should be very proud of yourself and with the obvious willpower you have shown so far I am sure you can get under your 20st goal.
5-0. 5-0, it's down the scales we go. With a flash new pair of boots to show, 5-0 5-0 5-0 5-0.......... ( to the snow white tune of 'hi ho'). Go girl. Absolutely fab. ππ
A Fantastic weight loss and a timely reminder to me that seemingly slow progress can still deliver fantastic results over a what on reflection looking a your magnificent achievement is a really short period. A touch of realism on my part, but a brilliant achievement by you, well done x
Hi Dave, what encouraged me to start in the first place was a friend who lost 5 stone in 2 years. That works out at just under 3lb a month - not much when you think of it that way but 5 stone in 2 years is amazing. I constantly try to look ahead thinking where I can be in a certain amount of time if I just keep going. A couple of years of of your life to get fit isn't really that bad I guess.
Stories like yours provide great encouragement for us grossly overweight individuals. Somehow I need to get the balance of weight lose and muscle growth or at least muscle maintenance as I get older as fitness and mobility remain equally important for me. Thanks, I will keep this in mind when trying to deal with seemingly lower weekly losses.
No worries Dave. I see you do a bit of cycling but do you also walk? Walking burns quite a lot of calories although it does of course take longer. I am a tad younger than you I guess but my weight was affecting my mobility however since I started walking back in January I feel so much better. My leg muscles have definitely toned up.
I do have a bike but feel too big on it at the mo and the numb bum thing is a pain - maybe next summer though I am even considering a go at jogging but will get my GP's advice first due to my size but no plans to think about that for about 4 - 5 months.
I'm new to here and seeing how fabulous you have done in those 28 weeks is fantastic! Well done on hitting your 50 target those boots look really smart! Enjoy your holiday and I'm sure you'll achieve your next target xx
