That is a link to a BMI calculator, xmas is too far away, not to say you shouldnt be working towards a finl target weight whenever that happens, but set yourself mini goals along the way e,g get your self into 11's that's only 6 lbs away then a stone etc - it soon adds up! Good luck
I agree with Prin as the rate you lose weight at will vary so much depending on your age, height, how active you are and how much you have to lose. So it is better to have small goals and not to stick too much to a timeframe that might give you disappointment. I am short, in my 60s and have only a little weight to lose (I want to lose a few pounds because I have a bad knee) so it is coming off very slowly! But other people might drop the pounds much faster. Keep on track and try to see it as a lifestyle change for the best. Good luck, you'll have lots of support on this forum!

Hi
I am also hoping to lose 2 stones before Christmas, I started my 12 wk plan on Monday and I am feeling better already - if I cant get to the gym I just do some sit ups or squats at home just to keep my mind focused........you can do it!!!
Hi, I am 5ft 5 and will be 63 in a few weeks. I gained 2 stone in my 50s and decided to tackle it in 2014. Took me ten months but I lost 30lbs and am back from size 16 to 12/14 . Now maintaining which is a different sort of challenge.
Just follow the calorie level for your personal BMR , height, age etc. The final few pounds are not easy so be patient.
Good luck to you.
If you want to get it off and keep it off don't set a time limit at all, just aim for 1-2 pounds a week ... it is easier to stick to, and gives your spare skin a fighting chance of keeping up with the fat loss !!
The first stone or two may drop more rapidly but the final stone won't
( thats when many people lose heart and give up) But just soldier on, recalculate your calories every half stone as you get lighter and you should get to 9 st eventually. Im 5ft5in and 62, it took me ten months to go from 12st to 10st. Im now maintaining on an average 1500 cals and have stayed within 9st 11 - 10st 1 for eight weeks. Maintaining is an art in itself !!
Good luck, aim for one dress size smaller for Christmas and it might even be two!
The normal weight loss would be around 2 pounds per week. It will get smaller as you lose more weight. You will need to incorporate cardio and weight trainings into your daily trainings. I have problem at the moment with the loose skin and that's why you need to tone your muscles also!!
I'm also 5'4" and started the NHS weight loss plan 9 weeks ago at 12st1. I'm losing about 1-2lb a week, so far down to 11st3. I also did the couch to 5k programme earlier this year, which I started at 12st4, losing 3lb and several inches from my waist. Being able to run 2-3 times a week has really helped me maintain my 1-2lb a week loss now I'm doing the weight loss plan, as I've found you really need to keep an eye on both what you eat and how active you're being. If you follow the 12 week plan and can do a similar amount of exercise you can probably get below 11stone in 12 weeks. It will be late October by then, giving you a fighting chance of losing about another stone or half a stone by xmas. So if you really focus on it for the whole period you could reach 10st or 10st7 by xmas. I'm aiming for 10st7 (although I have no deadline in mind) which is just at the upper limit of a healthy bmi for our height. Hope this is some help and good luck
