So there I am in about the Middle of my swim when from the deep end there's an almighty 'SPLASSSSHHHH!!!'
I look up and before I can see what's going on, there's a Phelps wannabe splashing and careering his way at full pelt straight at me...
I politely swam aside but no sooner had I set off again and he was overtaking me, whacking me on the legs and arm as he went and didn't even look up to appologise....
Mildly frustrated I just carried on, being occasionally thumped by my new best swim buddy...
That's when he said it.
'You're not a strong swimmer love, you should be in the kids bit'
So I replied...
'No mate, I'm not a strong swimmer which is why I'm at the gym and not the bloody Olympics, i'd probably be faster if you didn't keep whacking me on your way past and maybe if you kept to your own lane it wouldn't be a problem!'
He did lots of eye rolling and normally I'd have exited the pool pretty sharpish after any kind of confrontation, but I just thought do you know what, people like that that thrive on bringing other people down don't deserve the time of day and certainly don't deserve the satisfaction of watching me leave, I'm staying.
So I kept swimming until he left which was way way over my 30 mins, but there was no way I was leaving first!!
So thank you pool Pillock, you actually motivated me in your own special way... See you next week!
