Hi Pompeygirl1956,

Welcome, and hope you find this forum helpful. I can definitely recommend the NHS 12 week weight loss plan, and the link is here, if you've not seen it yet:

nhs.uk/Livewell/weight-loss...

There are lots of tips and suggestions to help you to lose weight, and it is a 12 week plan, so has great structure and is easy to follow.

I would also recommend an app to help you to log your food and drink intake, plus exercise, and I have found that Myfitnesspal (a free app) is a good one. Very easy to use.

I think that pre-planning meals, wherever possible, and also snacks, is helpful, and choosing non-processed foods that are nutritious and healthy (lots of vegetables, and some fruit, plus ensuring each meal or snack has a good balance of protein, carbs and good fats). I also think that exercise is beneficial and would recommend something that you enjoy, so that you can keep it going as part of your lifestyle. I love walking, and occasionally do some jogging too. I'd like to say 'running' but I think what I do is more appropriately termed 'jogging'. :-)

Hope you have a great week, whatever you decide to do - and good luck with your weight loss journey.

Lowcal :-)

Everything Lowcal said. I think it's particularly important to include regular exercise. From your username I am guessing you live in Portsmouth. You are really lucky to live in a flat city with lots of seafront access / public spaces and a good climate. Make use of it - walking - consider starting the Couch to 5K running plan if you can. Southsea promenade is a joggers highway at certain times of the day!
