I keep losing and gaining the same 10pounds. I've gained almost half back but now it's time to hold myself accountable. I need to lose about 1 stone and 8 pounds to be at my health BMI.

It's my first time of the NHS Plan. This time however I think I'll be able to learn new habits that will be long lasting.

Motivators and friends are welcomed!

Hi Mary

I'm also trying to lose about 1st 8lb to get to the upper end of my healthy BMI. I'm following the NHS 12 week plan, and have also done couch to 5k. Are you starting the NHS plan today? Let us know how you get on. I agree motivation is key :) Ruth

Hi Ruth,

I started the NHS Plan today and just had my first weigh in.

How did you find the couch to 5k plan.

I find my legs are super weak when jogging. but I would like to start that.

What week are you on?

in reply to

Hi Mary, I did couch to 5k from Feb-April, so I've finished that now and just trying to keep running. Then since early June I've started the NHS 12 week plan. I was no where close to being able to run when I started couch to 5k. But it started so gradually it was okay, I just took it slowly, and took advice from other people in the couch to 5k forum as I went along. I still run, and I've done 4 weeks of the NHS plan so far. Hope you find a path that works for you - this is just what's working for me! Best of luck, Ruth :)

Sounds great!

I do go on runs, I just don't find that I lose a lot of weight.

I plan to take up early morning runs combined with a workout programme. I start insanity tomorrow.

Keep me updated with how it goes!

All the best Ruth!

Wow, good luck. Keep me updated too :)

Welcome and hope you like it on here. I need to lose as much as you. I am experiencing the same problem I lost 7lbs in total, then put that back. So one week I lose 2lb, next weigh in put back 1lb, and so on.

Hi Mossiewee,

I am looking forward to losing it all and keeping it off.

How are you doing so far? What week are you on and what are doing to be successful this time?

I could use any tips you have got!

All the best,

Mary

Hi

I gave up sugar. Someone gave me the tip of weighing out the sugar I used in drinks in a day then multiply that by 7. It came to a staggering 1lb 8ozs. Had I not weighed it I would still think it wasn't much. I started drinking lemon tea without milk. Being disciplined is great, but I have real issues with that since I became ill last year, and I can no longer go on my 14 mile walks at weekends. The walking was a great way to keep weight off, and reduce stress levels. When I am feeling sorry for myself now I tend to comfort eat. I find it best I have no sweet things in the house, only fresh fruit. I too would appreciate any tips. Good luck and keep focused.

I'm trying to lessen my sugar intake too.

I think that is my major weight gaining contributor.

For me discipline worked best and sticking to my workout.

My major problem is food and what I eat.

Working out isn't that bad once I start.

I am starting insanity, I'll let you know how that goes.

I drink a lot of water and green tea.

Green juice is great for keeping you full, so it water.

That's what I realised, for me I don't like to feel hungry. I like to feel full, but not lethargic so I need to change up my eating habits.

Good luck too! Definitely keep me updated.
