Extremely frustrated..... πͺ
Don't panic!! Stick to the plan and don't let this throw you off course ... Could it be hormone related? ... Have you had salty food that might be causing you to retain water? If you're sticking to the plan, exercising and drinking plenty of water your body WILL sort itself out πΌ πΈ
Thanks folliegirl. I'm still going to stick to the plan as I'm enjoying it. But it's so frustrating . I measure everything even my daily allowance of salt which I need as my sodium levels in my blood is extremely low. Just feeling so low and as for hormonal levels since I came off the contraception injection last sept I've only had 1 period since which was a couple of was ago but very light. I count everything including drinks. I nearly didn't eat today because I've gone up so fast but my father encouraged me to eat some tea π₯ so yeah feeling bad x
I know that it's so frustrating about your weight and you're not alone - my scales told me this morning that I had gained 1.5 lbs since y'day and I know that I have eaten correctly and exercised!
Maybe there are other positive changes happening that you're not acknowledging... are you more toned? have you lost inches? are you feeling fitter? Hang in there, the weight will come off too if you keep doing all the right things re calorie counting, exercise etc.
Maybe you could try different types of exercise to burn fat e.g resistance/ weights or higher intensity exercise. Even small adjustments might help e.g if you currently walk for exercise, then walk up hills, if you jog, then try some sprints. Just a thought....
Keep calm and carry on
Thanks mags I'll have to think about new ideas. Hope your doing well on your plan x
Hey we understand here, i find i gain every time of the month, hormones can be a nightmare, also have a look at what you are eating although if you were in your calories could something have a high salt in it as it will make you retain water, also check for fatty or sugar items too quite surprising what sugar is in when you look at breakdowns. If you are gaining muscle that would could account for a little gain. Stay strong and stick to the plan and remember stress can stop you losing weight. Maybe youve hit a plateau im not sure but do continue and stay strong you will feel benefits like healthier and fitter even if your weight hasnt gone down this one week. All the best
The feeling of depression is so normal...you're normal! Anyone would feel low at this point. Now hold on to your hat. It's at times of vulnerability that old patterns (in your case starving) try to reassert themselves. Push it away. Tell it "I don't need you anymore" and "p___ off". You're the boss around here now, not some disorder long past its use by date. Anger can be a really useful tool. Tell that old pattern exactly where it can go! Imagine it as a silly clown or whatever else works, and send it packing.
Thanks biblical, I'm trying as hard as I can. So hopefully I'll get my feelings under control soon x
I have also had disordered eating, not a diagnosed condition as it was the manifestation of anxiety disorder and depression, but still severe problems with food. Are you able to see any kind of therapist? You should be eligible for at least several sessions of cognitive behaviour therapy. It saved my life.
Thanks ceecee45. I'm trying so hard. Just have to try harder.....
Hi Babylegion
Hope you are doing well ...
Do you mind sharing more details about daily routines to lose weight?
Like what you eat for breakfast and also how long do you exercise ...so i can help you from there ...
Chill....maybe you just keep some adjustment.. don't give up ...
My normal diet is based on.
Breakfast . Banana and muller light.
Lunch. Small salad. Little or no dressing.
Dinner. Is either macorni and cheese with salad, or vegi bake and salad.
For exercise. I'm disabled but I either do walking or aerobics and dancing for 1 or 2 hours mon till Friday. Weekends rest to help muscles.
I also snack on raw veg I.e. Carrots, celery etc...
Hope your journey is going well x
Hi again babylegion,
My heart goes out to you.
I'm not going to give you any dietary advice (except to say that you're not eating enough and it's not well balanced) because I know from my own experience that it was more important to resolve my emotional issues first, and then the eating naturally righted itself.
I reckon you could easily suspend the 12 week plan for a bit and re-focus on your emotional and psychological well being, because those things are the basis for everything else in life.
I'm sure your doctor has heard of CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy). Maybe you could do a little research and if you like what you find ask for a referral.
I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart.
I have talked to my gp today and he told me pretty much the same he's written out a diet for me to follow and I'm starting that in the morning. He's ex psyc now a gp and does give me support. He's told me I should be proud of my weight loss and goals and he's really proud of me and my progress which has made me smile today. He also made me laugh by saying I'm stubborn but as a counsellor myself I should be stronger. I promised I'd follow his plan and I will. Thanks biblia. Hope your journey is going well x
Hi Babylegion
So sorry to hear that things are tough at the moment. I do hope you can sort out your problems.
Perhaps giving you dietary advice is not a good idea at the moment, but it does look as though you do need to eat some more protein foods. Perhaps try a Greek yoghurt for breakfast, as they tend to have a good amount of protein in them and do not contain the amount of sugar you find in Muller Light.
Good luck.
It does look as though you need to eat a bit more - that might actually help to budge some weight. Even if you dont want to do the 5:2 diet then try varying your amounts of food each day. Eat more on some days (not rubbish, good stuff) and on other days stick to your more rigid regime x
Thanks mags, I do normally do that at weekends to try and stop a plateau happening again. Thanks for the tip x
