Frustrated

I've only been on my diet for 2 weeks and it started off last week brilliantly I lost 9lb. Them this week I started exercising more. I've taken over walking the dog for an hour a morning, if it's been dry taken the kids out to the park more and done 20 minutes a night of zumba. Yet this week I've not lost anything and feel a bit slumped by it all

Hello hjpawsey

9lb is a phenomenal weight loss!! Wow! I'm not surprised this week has been slower, it can happen like that so don't despair 😊 If you follow the plan the weight will come off, although It might be worth double checking your BMR and suggested calorie allowance just to make sure you are eating enough. 😊

Good luck 😊

Just want to add that it took me 8 weeks to lose the first 9lbs 😊

9lbs in two weeks is an incredible weight loss! It's frustrating when you have a week where you don't lose weight but I find they often follow or precede those where I have a more dramatic loss, assuming I've been sticking to the plan. Don't lose hope! It's only one week, and the main thing is you're moving onwards and downwards.

Other people have found - and me too - that when you start exercising you have a week or two when you don't lose. This is because your muscles retain lots of water, because they aren't used to the work. In a couple of weeks if you keep it up, that will drop off and you'll realise you have been losing fat all this time.

The first week you lose loads because you are losing fluid. The second week, you should aim to lose 1 or 2lbs which would be excellent. However, if you have stepped up the exercise, you will be building stronger muscles which might well offset the weight of the fat burned. Try taking various body measurements and see if you are changing shape at all? The main thing is to keep going - don't get disheartened. You didn't gain the weight at more than a pound a week, and it is best to lose slowly so your skin can shrink back gradually and you don't fall into the rebound binge situation which can happen if you are too strict. Try and log what you eat and aim for 1400-1600 calories, depending on how much you have to lose. It will come off - be patient...good luck!

Thank you everyone. My activity levels have increased drastically from what I was doing I already record my calories so I will keep doing what I am doing and hopefully next week I will see a little difference on the scales. Thank you all for your encouragement just what I needed.

keep exercising but over weeks you will start to lose less weight it will start going down to 1lb or 2 lb a week because it gets harder since your losing so much weight at the start which is normal so don't worry about it
