Hi there is anybody on this forum has done any spinning class so far. How was your first lesson went. Did you give it up because you found it to hard. What should I expect in a first lesson.
Spinning: Hi there is anybody on this... - Weight Loss Support
Spinning
Spinning is great, really good cardio work out and there is minimal impact on your joints. In your first session I would expect you to be exhausted its a really intense work out which normally lasts 40 minutes - it will definitely burn those calories.
The fitness instructors that lead spinning sessions are usually full of beans so feed off their enthusiasm and energy. Don't forget to take a bottle of water with you so inbetween 'hill climbs' and 'sprints' you can re-hydrate!
Full turn on!!! (you will know what this means after you've been)
Enjoy
Thank you for your reply. Did you loose any weight with spinning classes only , or do you have to combine other exercise as well. Like jogging.
If you are going to do spinning classes only (2 or 3 sessions a week) you will definitely lose weight as it is a great form of high intensity interval training. When I used to go to spin classes I didn't keep an eye on my weight but my cardiovascular endurance went up definitely. If you stick to it you will also notice your legs will tone up as well.
Like everything 'variety is the spice of life', so I would recommend combining the classes with other forms of cardio and resistance training. Try a body pump class if your gym offers them this is also great for fat loss.
hi really good class, you can go at your own pace and build up,really good fun and brilliant calorie burner!! good luck your love it..
Thank you, for the advice. I realised when I start the class on Monday, the instructor was not really communicating with the class, and I was spinning on a really strong resistance, I nearly passed out, my blood sugar got so low. That I have to stopped.
From now on I am going to take it at my own space and build it up from there.
Hi Edithharrison,
Your post has given me food for thought - I did try a spinning class about 2 years ago, and it really put me off going again, because like you, I felt exhausted afterwards and felt desperately unfit especially as all the other class members were full of beans like the instructor, and they seemed to cope ok.
But I think I should consider trying again, and see how I get on now - I am fitter generally than I was a couple of years ago, and so I think I could hopefully cope better - but also, I think your advice to take things at your own pace and build up from there are really sensible.
Hope you enjoy your class on Monday.

Thanks, I will keep going, hope you will enjoy it this time round. Good luck.
