Am having a really emotional day today and am angry that I let my emotions rule my food choices. Could just cry. No weight gain but no weight loss never going to change unless I can sort my head out! Help!

Dont beat yourself up too much hun. Look at the positive that you didnt gain, whatever bad choices you made never caused you to gain weight which is a bonus. Emotional eating can be a real problem, i did talking therapies last year and it helped me a lot before that diets never lasted long. Dealing with things in your head can be half the battle. Is there anyway you can deal with the reason for your emotional eating? Or is there someone you can vent to so its not all bottled up, maybe write it into a diary? Maybe try taking it out whilst working out ive been told it can reduce a lot of stress working out. If you get the urge to eat why not try going for a walk or do some housework (basically distract yourself) til the feeling passes. I know its not always going to work but it might help. You can always use this forum to vent :-)

Thanks for this, sometimes hormones dictate how I feel and it doesn't matter how much I try I can't snap out of it! I am also angry at myself at not going to the gym this morning as if I had done I am sure I would feel better. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. X

This happens to all of us every now and then, especially once a month, ;). We've all been there. The best thing to control the emotional aspect is to keep the glycemic index under control. That means eating more protein and less carbs. This is something I learnt in a course two years ago and it has helped me a lot. Good luck!
