Help Me!!
On the same boat as you .....I need help!!
don't panic, all is not lost! You are young, you have plenty of time. I was so hard on myself when I was the same age as you. I look back and wish I had been kinder to me! Just love yourselves and your bodies, and treat them well with lovely wholesome food and regular exercise. It doesn't have to be unpleasant sweaty running up hills excercise, but go for a walk exploring your area when you can, and try stepping on and off a footstool while you watch tv.
If you want advice on apps to help you log your food, or diet plans, or fun ways to exercise, let me know. I'd be happy to encourage you!
But don't beat yourself up- your older self will regret it!

Do you want to lose weight? That is the first thing to convince yourself. Not just to lose weight but to be healthier, fitter and most importantly happier.

Look at the advice in this site and start making some changes to your diet. I lost weight by following the 12 week plan. My tips are to plan all your meals, use smaller plates and plan in snacks so you don't get too hungry. it is important to be truthful to yourself about portions sizes etc.
If your reasonably healthy look at doing c25k. The forum is very supportive and it will change your life.
As you get fitter you will be so motivated to carry on.
Set yourself small goals and go one step at a time. If you have a 'bad' day don't let it derail you, just carry on the next day. Good luck with your journey.
Tesco diets is now free. Download the app or go to the site and plan all your meals in the daily journal. This will give you an idea of what you are eating and help you to make choices. Walk when you can - to the shops etc. strenuous exercise may demotivated you. start slowly - keep off the scales and weigh in once a week only. If you like chocolate stick to treat size, low cal chocolate drinks. Snacks - popcorn - plain.
Just have to have a word with yourself and decided if you really want to loose weight. If you do then find a diet that suits you and really stick to it. I like to wear a step counter coz it makes me walk more then you can set yourself a a goal. My daughter is the same as you and although I am in the same boat I'm a lot older. If you want someone to sound off to my email is chellian@hotmail.co.uk. And I will always be here to kick your arse if you need it lol x x
Hi SERChild, Listen to Grandma! My granddaughter is 21 and I'm in a cheeky mood. Get to a slimming club ASAP - I rejoined Weight Watchers 4 years ago and lost 4 stone - it took along time - about 15 months. Once you've joined a club and your'e with likeminded people you somehow feel "safe" and you can get on with your life as you know you're in control. The bravest thing you have to do is go to WW or any other slimming club for the first time. Once you've done that you can relax and enjoy the eating programme and if you follow it you'll have a weight loss each week. Remember the saying, " The journey of a thousand miles begs with a single step." Good luck !
It isn't your fault. Blame the food environment we have to deal with and all the sugar and processed foods all around us! Added to that, we have been told how to lose weight by eating low fat and plenty of whole grains - which just doesn't work. Eating sugar, and carbohydrates (bread, pasta, rice, cereals, potatoes) make us crave more of those things.
Don't be disgusted in yourself! You can sort this out and you have made the first move so good on you! Have a look at this. It might help get you started. dietdoctor.com/how-to-lose-...
I was going to reply, but you said it all. We're absolutely surrounded by the stuff that packs on the pounds, and the companies that make this stuff market it all very aggressively. It takes a lot of gumption to take a stand against the eating habits we've all grown up with, the habits that are killing us.
I would also welcome encouragement/tips having a good week so far - i have now purchased some scales as i hope that will keep me motivated. Im doing this to feel happier and also to lower my blood pressure. Its hard but im determined - any tips or advice would be great.
