Hi I am new to the community and wondering if anyone else has found good exercises for weight lose who also suffers from osteoarthritis. I already walk dogs daily and do a weekly pilates class. Any help to get started would be great.

Exercise for weight loss with osteoarthritis
I know some would disagree with me, but weight loss is mainly about what you eat. Exercise is for keeping healthy. The amount of exercise you are doing sounds good to me. The only other thing might be an aqua-fit type exercise.
Good luck.
Thanks for the comments - I have found weight. loss very slow and find it difficult to stay on track so was looking for exercise ideas to help speed it up a bit. Thanks for the idea I will look for a local aquafit course!
I have found that the NHS recommendations on eating do not work for me, but restricting the type and amount of carbs has been more successful (not eating processed or refined carbs).
This link may have some ideas that would be of help.
I do an aqua class, in the water, it is useful to have the water support the weight, so that might be a good one to try out. How do you find the pilates, does that go well. Good luck. Anne
Hiya, Thanks Anne. I am researching a local aqua fit - class fingers crossed. The pilates is great, helps keep me flexible and is a great way of exercising without jarring my joints - I have a great pilates teacher who advises me on what not to do as well as good things to try. Haven't lost any weight as yet which sadly is no surprise but will try and stick with it and hope to start losing soon.
