Hi to everyone here. A bit nervous messaging for the first time. I have tried a few different diets without seeing results. Hoping this time I can look and feel great in time.

Hello
It's only my 4 th but love the interactive support and people don't judge you because they don't see you, it feels liberating to be so open an honest! Good luck - we can do it, I've got 3 1/2 stone to loose so no quick win but with support home to get there !
Here's a useful little link to the 5:2 Diet youtu.be/W9Aj6hRYg4A which is really effective and very easy to follow. It's based on a fantastic BBC Horizon programme which aired in August 2012 called "Eat, Fast and Live Longer" bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episo... and it honestly changed my life. I do recommend you watch it and be inspired! It is said to also reduce the risks of cancer, diabetes and dementia.
I lost three stone in six months up to April 2013 and have kept it off since then by just 'fasting' one day a week, but I know of people who have lost masses more. I'm going to do it for the rest of my life. I'm 64 and I've never been so slim or so fit and healthy! With any previous diet I lost the weight, stopped counting calories, and piled it all back on again and more.
If you have any further questions please do get in touch with me.

Thanks for the links. Have watched some of the youtube videos and looks really interesting. The iplayer link just states page not available which is a shame. I do have a concern about the fasting days as I have type 2 Diabetes how it would effect me. Will have to see if I can lend the book from the library.
Here's another link for those outside the UK disclose.tv/action/viewvide... - I'm pleasantly surprised you got iPlayer to work.
As for your Type 2 Diabetes, if it's weight related studies have shown that it can be reversed by following the 5:2 Diet
myfitnesspal.com/topics/sho...
Obviously insulin dependent diabetics are not to follow the diet, nor pregnant/breastfeeding women, under 18s.
What did you think of the programme?
It was very interesting. Seriously thinking of giving it a try. My other half needs a more healthy lifestyle to so might get him to do it to.
