To make it a healthy diet, you need to be eating good food, so not just counting calories. Make sure you have a good amount of vegetables, either fresh or frozen, and some fruit. Check that you are not eating foods with 'hidden' sugar, like low fat or low calorie foods (look out for things like 'fructose' on the labels).
Good luck with your dieting.
It has worked for me to count the calories, but you need to bulk up with extra fruit and veg. Reading labels has been a real eye opener!
It's not a diet but healthy moderate eating
Yup. What do you understand by a "healthy diet". Fat is to be avoided but not entirely removed. We need a bit of all sorts of things - but IN MODERATION - fat lines the nerves and keeps them healthy, but only a little is needed each day. You do need to count calories but its not the be all and end all. One of the worst hidden calories is alcohol. It slows down the metabolism so you store the sugar as fat, then the alcohol is turned back into sugar and you store that, too. There are other hidden calories and sugars too.
