Thank you so much. Will try!
Try to increase your exercise amount as you don't mention if your weight loss is due to dieting or exercise. Exercise increases glut 4 translocation which is the glucose transporter from your blood into your muscle (glucose cannot cross the membrane without it). To reduce your blood glucose levels your body will increase insulin or if you exercise you can increase the number of glut 4 translocation...both ways will reduce blood glucose however as we know high insulin can lead to insulin resistance. It is possible for diabetics to reduce/reverse their condition through regular exercise due to the above effects.
Aim for 1-2lbs of weight loss a week, many people cut out carbs when dieting which results in water reduction that is taken with the carbs falsifying true weight loss. If you stick to a healthy calorie controlled diet overtime you will get to your weight loss goals. 1lb of fat is 3500calories a (500 calorie loss per day) will equate to 1lb of fat loss. Anyone reporting much higher values of weight loss are either losing water/muscle/or have bmi's of close to 35.
So try to walk everyday, do nhs recommended 30mins exercise a day and watch your diet. It is kinda that simple people complicate it too much...o and calories count...as part of my university lab group we found that 85% of individuals under-estimate their calorie intakes and portion sizes. Measure everything. Good luck.
Thanks so much. Yes i exercise a little bit on the treadmill and spinning. I eat in the mornings muesli with no fat yogurt and honey, drink green tea during the day and coffee, then snack is either a kiwi or orange and some almonds, lunch i eat green salad and at night either chicken or fish not fried sometimes with veg or sometimes with salad? I am really trying my best. I don't eat sweets anymore or make use of sugar. But maybe it is because i don't exercise enough. Thanks so so much i really appreciate all your help.
Hi there good on you, you have done well, I have starting tracking my calories, are you eating enough or has your body gone into starvation mode?
My husband was diagnosed with type ll Diabetes last year. He has lost nearly 3 stone, I use the UK diabetes web site, loads of advice there and he eats porridge most days, I make it with skimmed milk with a little sweetner. He also has medication but we find the porridge is a really good start to the day and in the evening it stops him 'picking'. Maybe we should invent a porridge diet lol. Good luck
What porridge does he eat beth?
A protein breakfast of eggs is also a good alternative and will keep you satisfied. Don't cut out fats too much, because your body needs them to be healthy. Vitamins like vit D are stored and transported round your body in fat. Have a good steak occasionally with your salad and olive oil.
