what do people think about diet pills
Hi smithy what food do you eat for 600 calories.
You must have terrific will power to exist on such few calories, you don't diet pills
think about it.
everything I buy at shopping I read the calories first I have 115 calories for breakfast no more than 150 for lunch and say around 350 to 400 for my dinner
Hi there,
Well done on your progress so far, but think of it as a kick start, and now you need to start eating healthily. 600 cal per day is not healthy, and nor are diet pills. I feel able to say these things as this is a NHS website, and they would advocate a diet of at least 1200 calls for you to be able to function and not lose muscle tone. So look again at what you are eating and think about exercise as a way of allowing you to burn off some of the extra calories you are consuming. A regular loss of about 2 lb per week max is what you should be aiming for now. Slow and steady wins the race.
Brilliant. I suspect most of us are a little envious.
Beware when you reach target you don't go back to bad habits. They're what got you there in the first place.
You answer your own question. Do you really need any pills or are you impatient? They say weight lost slowly stays off better. I've lost about a stone a year so we'll see.
Pills only benefit the person who receives the money for them. Of course I may be biased. If they work why do people stay on them for so long?
I'm also a little anxious about 600 calories. Isn't your nutrition a little low? I think maybe you should be asking these questions of a doctor, which I am not.
Having lost so much you MUST be healthier and have extended your potential life. You have more time now to do it and to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
Well done and good luck.
I feel that I can still do better just looking in to different meal instead of the same boring things everyday
You have had an excellent weight loss so far but 600 calories is too low. You will be in danger of losing muscle . .What kind of diet pills did you have in mind? Without going into too much detail I would strongly advise against any that are amphetamine based or amphetamine - like. I used these some years ago and yes I did lose weight but ended up in the cardiac unit. You are far better relying on your own will power which you have demonstrated that you possess. A weight loss of 1-2 lbs a week is sufficient to aim for and will ensure that you are losing fat and not muscle. The NHS weight plan is the one to follow.
i thought diet pills was all the same that why I wanted others opinions to see if others had used I go thought my diet every week I get weighed at tescos and 1 week I will loss a stone the next I will loss nothing then I will loss 9lb then nothing again
I'm also very concerned about you only eating 600 calories a day. That is not nearly enough to get proper nutrition and apart from the fact that you will be losing muscle as well as fat, you will be doing you bones and internal organs no good at all! If I were you I'd go to see my GP and get them to help you because you haven't said how old you are or how tall or how much you actually weigh. If I were a member of your family or friends I would be very worried about you losing all that weight in only 2 months, its not healthy and you should get some proper medical advice from your GP.
im 25 and my height is 5 5 I weighted 19 st 10lb but I now weigh 16st 9lb I have spoke to my gp about every thing and even told her that im only having 600 a day she said that's fine with her
all my family and friends say is wow what diet am I doing that's it even my hubby doesn't mine he just wishes I wasn't always thinking of calories
Don't touch them. Do it naturally, by knowing what you are putting in your mouth.
Firstly, well done on the weight loss, and your obvious determination to lose the weight.
However, like others, I am concerned you may not be getting enough calories per day and could actually be starving your body, which is not the healthy or long term way to lose weight and keep it off. The body uses 1200-1500kcals a day just for basic metabolism, even without any exercise, and if it does not receive sufficient to support this, then the body is put under stress. As others have said, this will cause muscle waste and stress on your internal organs, and is probably the reason you have had a huge weight loss one week, and little or no loss the next. Your body will also be loosing water, and you could be dehydrated if you don't replace lost fluids. I would start to increase your calorie intake, even if slowly, as you will still see weight loss, but at a much slower and safer rate. We all want the quick fix, and trust me I know the feeling of wanting to drop a few stones in as many months, so the idea of increasing your calories might be a scary thought. However, the idea of weight loss is to obtain a healthier life style, and not to go back to old habits, or indeed, create new unhealthy ones. I would certainly try the 5:2 diet, as this may be the perfect transition for you to control your weight loss for the long term.
As for the diet pills, steer clear! They are a quick fix (if they even work!) and can cause horrible side effects. If you still feel the need to try some, I would suggest talking to you GP again and see what they say, but in all, eating healthy and exercising more is the safest solution.
I hope this helps, and wish you the best for the rest of your weight loss.
i have started to cut my breakfast out cuz of the school run and I have a k bar witch is 99 calories for lunch hen a little size plate for dinner say 300 maybe 350 calories and I feel fine
It is difficult to advise you as you seem pretty set on not eating much at all. The thing is that food provides you with nutrients which your body will need. On 600 calories a day for four months your weight loss suggests that your body is conserving what you are giving it. I wonder whether or to what extent you are or remain overweight. You write about the scvhool run so I am also wondering whether you are making nutritious meals for your child/ren. Hopefully there is a shared evening meal - I am thinking of the example which children may be picking up if you are eating a very limited diet. The doctor might just not be so good but there are crash diets (especially with food supplements) which require tiny calorie allowances but they are just for the short term. You may have begun to get out of the habit of eating properly (but with smaller portions of some foods). If that's the case, it's a bit worrying. Your doctor's surgery may have a weight loss adviser - possibly ask to speak with a practice nurse about this. If you are still restircting your food so much then try and eat things which are good for you, as fresh and unprocessed as you can make them. Good luck.
Don't take diet pills. Unless you are working out. They can be sold with limited proof of effectiveness or safety. So it is important to do your homework if you're thinking about trying over-the-counter diet pills.
oh god no my 3 kids have the breakfast and for lunch they have al least 3 different types of fruit and I hot meal at dinner my babies love there veg I make sure my kids are well feed and the right way to I make and prepare there dinners everyday I just don't eat with them
Why not eat with your kids? It's such a nice thing to do and you can all talk about what you have done in the day. There aren't many calories in vegetables and they are very good for you, just leave out the potatoes, but make sure you have some protein.
Your calories are now down to about 400, according to your latest post. If you stay this low for long, you will find that your periods will stop and your hair will start to fall out. It may be important to lose weight but it is also important to stay healthy! If you are determined to stay on this very low calorie diet, then you need to research all the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that your body needs, like essential fatty acids. Food is not just calories!
Please look after your health (and if that cute little one in the photo is your baby think of him, you want to be there, healthy and active for him/her...) eating 600 calories for 4 month is not healthy at all - it is too little,... you will soon start losing muscle mass (but that has probably already happened) and your organs may be getting permanently damaged ... but all this has been said before.
Do you exercise? And I don't mean gym or run, but simply walking. Someone suggested 5:2 , it can be very good.
There are many ways to loose weight in a healthy way, maybe you could ask your doctor to refer you to a dietitian or nutritionist.
Healthy is far more important than slim - (and check this haescommunity.org it is about health at every size)
Forget about diet pills - they do more harm than good.
I walk around 3 miles a day there and bk from school I have a 4 and 3 year old girls and 1 year 10 months old boy so I still have 2 of my babies at home with me till September then one will be starting school
You seem to be determined - you look after your children and ensure that they are well nourished and you keep fit. I am still wondering whether you are overweight or just not the weight you would like to be. As others have said, the calorie levels that you are working to are not compatible with good health. Maybe you have to be kinder to yourself. If you don't want to go to a doctor then check your BMi on this site and/or go to a reputable slimming group (Slimming World suits me) and they will be able to help you manage weight loss in a healthy way as will the twelve week NHS programme - which you can get on nhs.uk/Livewell/weight-loss.... They send you a very positive message each week to keep you on thrack and healthy. Good luck.
Hi well done on your weight loss so far however similar to the other replys 600 calories a day would allow most people to lose weight but in my opinion and im no doctor the weight loss would be muscle the higher muscle density is what would help you tone up and possibly help your metabolism thats the benefit of exercise along with other associated benefits additionally do you think you could live on that number of calories in the very long term? i would agree with other replies to steer clear of diet pills eat real foods and be healthy good luck
