Last Monday I weighed 13 stone 13.8 pounds and today I weigh 13 stone 7.2 pounds, so I've lost 6.6 pounds this week. I had gained 4.4 pounds last week due to a weekend away overeating. So glad to have lost it plus a bit more!
This week I've enjoyed exercising and getting back to healthier foods and portion sizes. Last night I made a chicken curry and substituted cauliflower for rice to accompany it, and it tasted really similar but reduced the calories. I'm hoping to try out some new recipes over the coming week - so will look out online for some healthy ones. I'm also hoping to increase my exercise a bit by having an early morning jog a couple of times over the week.
Hope you have had a good week, and please do join me to share your experiences.
Wishing you all a great week ahead.

morning! I have stayed the same this week. I was expecting it, as its my time of the month, plus I had a few too many packets of hula hoops So, back on he wagon again as from last night. Have a lovely day Lowcal
Don't be hard on yourself - you are doing well so far. Some weeks are better than others, and maintaining the weight without gaining is brilliant, so keep it up, and you'll see results on the scales as well as inches in time.
Well done for maintaining your weight despite your time of the month and Hula Hoops! Glad to hear you're back on the wagon again, and hope you have a great week!
I haven't been able to weigh in yet, will do so tomorrow. I didn't lose any inches and haven't done for two weeks now! Well done low cal that's a great weight lose for the week
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow for your weigh-in - hope you have a successful week. I find that my inches don't change very much at all - that can be frustrating, but try to keep motivated and you'll see the results.
Wow, that's so great! Well done on losing 3 pounds. You're under 11 stone - getting below those stone markers is very satisfying! Glad to hear you're feeling excited - and hope you have a great week ahead.
My first week on the plan and I'm down 3kg - woop! I'm finding it easy to stick to the 1400 cals a day as long as I plan a bit in advance and I'm managing to gym every day but did take a break Friday and Saturday. I'm going to leave the measuring to a monthly measure, I don't think there will be that much difference on a weekly basis and as long as I'm seeing the weight come down, I'm ok with that.
Congratulations on your 3kg weight loss - that's a great start! Glad to hear you're finding it easy to stick to the 1400 cals a day. Well done on keeping up your gym attendance too. I also measure on a monthly basis, but often don't see much change in measurements - the weight does change though.
Well done Lowcal! Is that not your lightest so far? Not sure if I have lost any I am 11st 1lb so did not reach my goal of being under 11 so hoping for a 1.5lb loss this week
Fab work on your weightloss. By some miracle I have lost 2 lbs this week despite eating out and having (too much) birthday cake last week, I'm really happy with that.
I have been out walking everyday, yesterday I managed a 6.5 mile walk and actually enjoyed it, I no longer get so out of breath walking up hills or a flight of stairs. Now i'm back at work after a week off and back to my routine hopefully the weightloss will continue.
I've even managed to substitute Pepsi max for coke so getting rid of that addiction is happening, still fizzy pop but less calories and i'm hoping not so addictive as the coke
Congratulations on losing 2 pounds - that's really great! You were able to enjoy your Birthday celebrations last week and still lost weight - brilliant.
Great that you managed such a long walk - that's an achievement. Sounds like your fitness levels are improving - as you say, you're not out of breath anymore.
Well done also for cutting down on your coke. I used to like coke, but I tend to enjoy just ordinary water these days, and teas and coffees. I drink more tea without milk as well. I try not to have too many coffees though - don't want a caffeine overload.
Hi Kate, well done on your loss! I just wanted to say that I also had a fizzy drink addiction and managed to break it by going on to sparkling water - still the fizz but no calories or other bad ingredients. I was drinking about 8 cans of diet coke a day and there was a whole ritual around the sound of the can opening, the taste of the first sip etc etc - I did a 30 day challenge to break that one and, thankfully, it worked. Good luck this week, hopefully pounds off again on Monday
Morning all - Great work on losing and maintaining and well done for everyone's efforts.
I lost 3lb this week. I'm pleased because I'd previously gained 2lb and then plateaued for 2 weeks, and it was becoming frustrating. I have 2 weeks left of the 12 week plan, and 3lb to lose to get to a healthy BMI. It's within my sights.
I'm also doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred (a daily workout DVD). I'm on Day 21 and so far I've seen a big changes in my body shape - it's great for toning. So I've been eyeing up bikinis in the shops wondering if I dare wear one this summer. It must be a good 15 years since I last did..
Congratulations on losing 3 pounds this week. That's so great! Not long now till you'll be at your healthy BMI.
I've had that Jillian Michael's DVD for ages, but never actually watched it! I must give it a go - but somehow the idea of a 'shred' sounds a bit painful...! Great to hear you've found it to be really good. I must give it a go. Not sure where I've put it, to be honest, so must try to find it first.
Yes, but which drawer??? I have no idea where I've put it... Maybe a future Spring clean will bring it to light...!

Hi there - do hunt it out and give it a try. It's only 20 minutes so it's easy to fit into the day and I've discovered muscles I never thought I had. If you don't manage to find your copy of the DVD, you could always find it online, on YouTube etc. Good luck!
I will do my best to find it and if not I'll take a look on YouTube etc - really glad you reminded me of it - I am a big fan of Jillian Michaels and also of Bob Harper (both of Biggest Loser USA fame, as you probably know). Have you tried Bob Harper's Cardio Core Conditioning session - lasts just under 25 minutes and really tackles the core muscles. Lots of standing on one leg for protracted periods of time whilst doing repetitions with hand weights.
Hi Lowcal, that's great weight loss you've done this week - well done! I've loss one pound - 5 in total since I started. That's the good news - the bad news is that I have somehow done my back in which is so painful, so no running for now. Did go swimming this morning which seemed ok. Have a Good week everyone.
Thanks very much. Congratulations on your weight loss too - you're getting close to half a stone! Not long now. Sorry to hear you've put your back out though - that must be painful. Glad you managed to swim ok - that's great exercise, so hopefully you can still do that and your back will hopefully get better really soon.
Congratulations! Raises your spirits when you see a drop on the scales doesn't it? Loving the sunshine! Goodness knows we could do with a bit of sun in our lives. Have a great week.
Hi Low Cal, that's amazing. Well done!!!! You must be feeling very proud of yourself. I've not weighed in yet as not any access to scales but hopefully weigh in tomorrow morning. I've not done well, I've lost the motivation. I need to find again though. I find if I don't plan the meals ahead and start Monday, I fall. I'm having a pow wow with my friends on Saturday who are equally keen to lose weight and shape up. So hopefully something productive and motivational will come from that!!!!! Have a great week!!!
Thanks for your encouraging words. Sorry to hear you feel that you've lost some of your motivation level, but I am sure your pow wow with your friends will hopefully spur you all on towards renewed motivation and energy. At least you know what works for you already - i.e. planning your meals ahead. Part of the reason I am looking at some new recipes is to try to bring more variety and interest to my food choices - whilst maintaining a sense of control and planning over my eating. Otherwise I fear I'll become a bit bored and end up eating something unhealthy and fattening.
I've made some soup which I've frozen in batches, so that I can have some when I haven't made a plan, or run-out of ideas, as it will be a healthy staple to fall back on. It's got lots of vegetables in it - onions, garlic, potato, carrots and cauliflower (I was just using up what was in the fridge). It's quite tasty!
Anyway, hope your weigh-in goes well tomorrow morning.
Hi Low Cal, thanks for your post and words of reassurance. Yes I'm hoping this weekend will be productive. Thanks for the ideas of soup, I'm a big soup fan so I'll try that. I find the sugar slump around 3 the hardest and succumb to a Turkish Delight but I might try nuts. I weighted in and I was 10.11 so I'm going to get organised!!!!
Yes, I think that soup is good as it can make you feel fuller and satisfied. I do have my soup with some wholemeal bread and butter or soya margarine, and usually have it as a lunch.
I think nuts are good as a snack, but just bear in mind they are quite calorific, so don't have too many!
Good luck with this week - sounds like you are feeling motivated and getting organised.
Usually I am very good at bullying people to get on the scales at lest weekly (get a pair of your own if you can) even if it's bad news do it! Then you can assess how you tackle it, other wise you can ignore it and let the weight catch up with you
Many thanks Prin to your words of wisdom. I did weigh in and had put a little on but I knew that. Yes you are right about not keeping an rue on your weight and the next thing you know you are a stone heavier. It's time to take action!!!
Hi Lowcal! Well done!
I had another good week losing 3lbs to bring my total loss to 10lb so far. And although my clothese feel no looser, my knees are nowhere near as painful as they were a month ago. As its for health improvement not appearance that I am losing weight for, I am feeling very happy. Good luck everyone this week.
Thank you! Congratulations on losing 3 pounds - that's really great. Double figures of loss for you now - great progress. It's great that your knees are not as painful as they were previously, that shows how much healthier you must be.
Have another great week ahead.
Lowcal
Wow Lowcal, this is good!!! Well done I lost another 1lb which is making me smile. Here's to a healthier and lighter week for us all
I didn't actually lose anything this week, in fact, I put a little bit back during the week. This morning however, it's coming back down.
My husband is still feeling woozy and wobbly while taking the powerful antibiotics, even with the prochloprazine which is similar to what is given for travel sickness. We've been out in the car while the weather has been so beautiful - he's fine while he's sitting down, it's moving about which causes him to go dizzy. However, it's all necessary to avoid any recurrence or possibility of infection inside the bone.
Glad to hear your weight is coming back down. You have had a lot of stress in your life over the past few weeks, and I think weight definitely goes up and down in such circumstances.
Glad to hear you were able to get out in the car with your husband. Sorry to hear he's still feeling woozy and wobbly with those powerful antibiotics, but at least he's better when he's sitting down. Like you say, important to keep on with them to stop the potential for further infection.
Thanks for the kind words. I've actually lost 1 kg or 2.2 pounds since I started doing this on Easter Monday. I don't think there is much wrong with the way I eat. Only fresh foods, natural, no processed, very little sugar. Yes, when he's driving he's comfortable, his back is supported, the car does all the work! We like to get out and about as and when we can. We're away on Saturday and back home Sunday.
Yes, you are doing really well - 1 kg since Easter Monday is really good. You are eating healthy foods and have described some delicious sounding breakfasts and other meals on occasions.
Hope you are able to get out and about more this week, and that you enjoy your weekend trip as well.
Brilliant that you've started your healthy eating plan and that you've lost your first pound. That's great. Upping your exercise will also reap benefits. Wishing you another great week ahead.
