Dear NHS Weight Loss Community

HealthUnlocked would like to apologise for the level of spam that has been posted in the community over the previous 24 hours. We have taken steps to remove all of the offending content and ban the users responsible. We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming days and will take the necessary actions in order to limit this type of behaviour.

As a response, we are developing a spam detector to identify & track down users who are spamming in communities and automatically ban some of the offenders. This system will reduce the impact of spamming, though it won’t catch all spammers due to the risk of inadvertently catching a regular member. We will continue refining this system as your privacy and security is our main priority.

If you do find any further evidence of spam, please do click on the ‘report’ button next to the post in question, it will then be immediately brought to the attention of the community administrators and HealthUnlocked.

If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our support centre, you can do that by clicking the ‘help’ button above.

As always, thank you for being part of the HealthUnlocked community and have a great day.

Hugo W.

It's good that you say steps are being taken to remove the spam. However, if this is the case, why did the daily email today have over 50 links to spam posts in it? Apologies if I sound stroppy but this situation has been getting worse for weeks. Thank you for your efforts in dealing with this. I was about to leave the weight loss forum but will hang in there a little bit longer if I know attempts are being made to address the situation.

I'm almost getting to screaming pitch every morning with all the rubbish and was looking for an email address to contact you about it. Probably over 50 such links in my daily Healthunlocked email this morning - Weight loss and C25k communities.
