How much weight can I lose cycling
Cycling is a great way to lose weight, and puts less pressure on joints than running. guess it depends on how much you do, but gradually increase distances and the pounds will drop off! Good luck!
From a difficult 5 mile ride 2 months ago I am now up to 20 miles most days and almost a stone lighter. I even managed a 40 mile ride last Sunday - and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I tend to cycle on a stationary bike at the gym for about 20 minutes, and it says on the calorie counter that I use up 150 calories in that time - I usually travel about 8 km. I usually set the bike to level 8 (although I don't actually know what level 8 means!).

I lost 35 pounds over 3 months. I cycled up a moderate hill for 1.5 miles and then round a reservoir which equalled another 1.5 miles per circuit. I became quite addicted to it [a GOOD addiction]. I would clock up sometimes as many as 20 miles a day over a mixture of tarmac and rough ground and use my gears to ensure that it was always a bit of an effort.
Unfortunately in the last 5 years I've put the weight back on and the reservoir has been ruined by having half a mile cut off it by the council laying a bypass through it. I'm now walking between four and seven miles and like the cycling I'm doing it everyday. But both would be useless if I hadn't cut my calorie intake down to 1900 a day.
