Following my previous question about being under investigation for PCOS, the gynaecologist has recommended that I go on the progesterone-only pill. I haven’t had a period in 2 years, suffered with heavy bleeding for the past 10 weeks (to the point I was rushed into hospital several times). What kind of experience have people had with this pill, has it helped/any side effects/how are your periods etc (just as much information as possible really)

Progesterone-only pill
Hey I was on the progesterone only for several years. I didn't get any periods (you don't usually on this pill as you take it every day). I had bad migraines with the combined pill, less on this one. I came off the pill feb 2020 and it took me 15 months before having another period. Previous to starting it i didn't know when my next period would be and could go up to 5 months without a period but usually I'd have a period at least once over 3 months. I was told things would go back to normal not long after coming off it but when I spoke to gp about my worry about not having had a period still for over a year since stopping pill she didn't seem too concerned so I'd check with gynaecologist what they know about when you stop this pill. I don't know if it will help with the heavy bleeding. Best to ask how they think the progesterone only pill will help with that. (As it does sometimes feel that just suggest the pill as the standard post pcos diagnosis). Take care
