Hi,

I’ve been taking metformin for about 2 months but my periods have now stopped which I’m worried about. I used to have them monthly before taking metformin. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks x

That doesn't sound right to me, metformin is strong drug that has many non desirable effect, in all honesty you can adjust your diet to gain the same benifit that metformin gives with out taking the drug fairly easily. All it does is lower the sugars in your body cut carbs and sweet stuff and you shouldn't need it.. especially if its the reason for a disappearing period. Most people take it to regulate there cycle.

I've been taking metformin 2 months now and I've never heard of it making your periods irregular.... if anything its help with mine.... so far I've had a period every month but not heavy ones like I used to. I would speak to your gp about it x
