I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS, endometriosis and adenomyosis. Part of my treatment has been to start taking Metformin. Has anyone experienced extreme nausea and sweating whilst on Metformin? I'm sure my body will settle down but any tips or advice would be welcome.
Thank you in advance.

I’ve now swapped to the slow release version of metformin, I’m only a few days in but it’s better I think. Ask your Dr for this if it doesn’t settle down for you. Good luck.
Yes my hormones are actually all in the ‘normal’ range now and my periods are more regular. I think it has helped quite a lot. It hasn’t helped with symptoms like painful periods and hair in unwanted places etc! I was also told it might reduce my appetite, but I haven’t noticed that either 😅
Hello I have just been prescribed these too and really suffered with sickness, I had to get in touch with my doctor and they have stopped me taking them.
Hello, sorry to hear that you have also been suffering with sickness. Did they give you any alternative options? I am really hoping my body will adjust but right now its been hard to keep anything in my stomach
Metformin does have these side effects for some people. i'd suggest talking to your doctor about swapping it for myo-inositol 2x2g/day for at least 6 months. It works in a similar way to metformin and less side effects are normally experienced. This is only advise, please check that your doctor is happy first. If you need some studies to back this point let me know that i'm sure he'll be happy to look at for you
Metaformin is great to assist with type 2 diabetes and conception. The side effects should not include any sweating, however the nausea is pretty normal when you first start taking it. It will settle in a few weeks.
You should ask your doctor for the Sukkarto brand of Metaformin it’s a slow release tablet, normally 500mg once or twice daily. It will help better and you won’t feel nausea.
