Pregnancy with metformin and PCOS

Hello,

Does anyone have any success stories from taking metformin to regulate/induce a cycle and subsequently falling pregnant? Currently on the waiting list to look at IVF but just about to start metformin.

thanks

Metformin is the best. I was told id never have a baby unless i lost weight. I started metformin. Got pregnant after 3 months. Was told to continue with metformin throughout. Im now 36 weeks pregnant. Metformin works wonders.

Congratulations! Did you have any/regular menstral cycles before metformin?

this gives me hope! Me m and my fh have been ttc since december 2021 when I came off my pill. In october 22 I was disgnosed with PCOS and my gp just told me to “lose weight” it didn’t sit right with me as I am 5ft 3 and size 12/14 so I got a second opinion and just started taking Metformin. I’m hoping it will help me concieve 🤞

I really hope metaformin does this for you! If not ask about information about clomifene as you can take them together! I’m 5,3 size 12/14 and conceived on clomifene after 5 months with my first child. Hope this helps x

While not pregnant yet, Metformin absolutely has improved my cycles. For the first time in my life, I actually know when I'm ovulating and when I'm due my period. I hope it's only a matter of time before we hit gold xx

So sorry only just seen this! I'm going to say 6 months for things to become predictable, and I just had my first positive pregnancy test after trying for two years last night! So 9 months worth of Metformin x

I got pregnant on Metformin with Letrozole.

Before that I had no cycles at all. I noticed I started to get random cycles (sometimes 70 days, sometimes 30) after about 6 months of Metformin. Then I started taking Letrozole as well and it worked great. I ovulated approx day 20 everytime.

Should be 11 weeks tomorrow. I fell pregnant the last cycle of Letrozole and was booked in to start IVF x
