New and confused about some hormone results

Hi. I'm hoping the community might be able to help with the test results below.

I'm 43 & had a PCOS diagnosis when I was late teens. Additionally, I had 2 x large dermoid cysts removed 13yrs ago. My last scan when I was experiencing pain and thought they had come back, suggested I had very few cysts on my ovaries at the time (about 4yrs ago). I have chosen not to have children and therefore have not been on any PCOS meds in my life. The only advice I have every received is to lose weight and it will help my symptoms.

In the past five years I've really struggled with fatigue, brain fog, joint pain, general aches, lack of energy/brain clarity and it has reached a point now where I have to address it as it is seriously impacting my life. So, I've been making some lifestyle changes and getting some tests done to better understand my health and ways forward.

The hormone test results I received back surprised me. It suggests I am in normal range for everything. Is this usual for PCOS? I guess I was expecting to see higher levels of Testosterone. Is there anything in the levels below that point to anything related to my fatigue/pain/brain fog? Do I even have PCOS anymore? The excess hair and ability to gain weight/inability to lose weight and lack of periods would all point to PCOS symptoms. I have menstruated only a handful of times since they ceased when I was 18yrs.

I also tested for Thyroid (posted in other forum about this). Out of the 2 x tests (thyroid and hormones) the areas highlighted as out of range were CRP (5.6), Ferritin (266) and slightly suppressed prolactin level at 101.

I started a low carb/high fat way of eating 3 x months ago with the aim of reducing weight and my blood sugar levels (I thought I might be pre-diabetic). However, I have been monitoring my blood sugars as well for the past month and they are mainly 5.1-5.3 after an overnight fast of 16hrs and usually 5.1-5.3 2hrs after food.

Despite the change in diet and fasting for 16hrs overnight mostly, I've only lost 7lbs in the past 3 x months (that was lost in first 2 wks and since then nothing) and my energy levels/fatigue/brain clarity/aches have barely improved.

Any info/advice would be much appreciated.

I dont have heaps of advice on test results but I can compare with mine! Strangely my LH and FSH seem to be the opposite way round than yours! So my LH is 15.1 IU/L and my FSH is 4.9 IU/L which is a 3:1 ratio ( typical of PCOS I’ve read). Testosterone is 2.5 nmol/l which is quite a bit higher than yours. Thyroid and oestrodial never got tested!! In my experience lab results are very difficult to understand. I’ve looked online for most of my answers regarding normal ranges! Sorry not much help really 🙄

Thanks for sharing your results for comparison. It sounds like your levels are much more typical for PCOS and mine quite abnormal. I'm discussing my results with my Dr on Wed so hope they will be able to help me make sense of it.

Really appreciate you responding and helping me to have other results to compare with
