Hello, am new here. Am 36yrs and have a 12 yr old son. I have an irregular period fluctuating between 28 -33 days. Within a year I miss my period 1 or 2 times. I have been trying for a baby for the past 6 months but no luck yet. Yesterday, I went for a pelvic ultrasound and the nurses doing the scan said is PCOS . Still waiting for the results from the doctor which takes 7days. Am scared as I really want a baby. What kind of questions should I ask the doctor when he calls and any other ideas or treatment on how to get a baby with PCOS easily? Any suggestions will be heartily appreciated🧐💞

Hi Genny, the fact you have a son is a good indication you will have a good chance of conceiving again.

I’m guessing you’ve had PCOS all your life so finding out now might seem scary but the diagnosis itself doesn’t mean you can’t have another baby especially if you have a son already. 6 months is not an overly long time to have been trying so I wouldn’t get too worried just yet, and there are many options you can be offered if things are getting a bit slow or difficult.

What type of doctor is it you are seeing?

It’s a bit of a strange time for the NHS just now but hopefully soon things we’ll get back to normal so if you don’t manage to get anywhere with your GP then you can try referral to Gynae or Endocrine and you’ll definitely be in good hands there!

Best of luck Genny
