One option if you cannot afford laser is to buy a wet and dry epilator (and do it in the shower) which is what I used 20 or so years ago but make sure you exfoliate well so you dont get any ingrowing hairs (which I did and they were awful but epilators are significantly better than they used to be)

I had laser (not ipl) on my face (via SK:N who did a discount for pcos and interest free credit) 11 years ago and have not had anything done for 9 years now. I do still shave once a week due to the blond ones but the thick coarse ones have gone, I did have 22 sessions though (average is 15 due to the hormone imbalance). You can also get a cream from the GP called vaniqa which slows down the speed of growth, it wont reduce the amount of hair though.

Using hair removal cream is better than shaving as it will reduce ingrown hairs. I always use Nair for sensitive skin.

I used to do it on a two weekly basis as i was very hairy and i found over the next few years it took long to grow back and was somehow lighter as well. As there's certain chemicals in the cream that burn the hair. So make sure you keep it on the recommended time!

Do not shave, that's the worst thing you can do.

Also if you find something that's suitable for you whether its hair removal cream, laser, waxing - i advise to stick to it and that only. Changing methods of removing hair can mess up the hair process and might potentially damage your skin.

I went from shaving, to waxing and shaving at the same time and resulted in dark patches.

So now i mainly use hair removal cream and i get my sister who is a specialist in skin and beauty - she threads my face.

Hope that helps

You should never shave as it will come back thicker and faster. Try using hair removal creams

Except if you are having laser treatment- then they recommend you to shave rather than pluck xx

Musky15 I got a Tria home laser (£400 but cheaper than salon) but I don’t know the age recommendation for that. At your age I used jolen bleach on face? It used to work well?

I got a Tria Laser and have been using it for a couple months-hair on my face Is almost gone!!! It did cost £400 but I got it for birthday and when it dies (They last for a few hundred charges I think) I will be buying another. Even with complete hair removal I think it will come back because of the pcos.
