So ive just come across PCOS from an article and i have never heard of it before till now, im not sure whether its worth getting checked out, my periods have been irregular since June/July ive been to the doctors about it twice, the first time they did a blood test for my thyroid levels which came back normal then i went again but was just put on birth control. I dont believe i have gained any weight, any unusual weight at least but ive noticed my facial hair is out of control. i am having to remove it nearly everyday whereas before i could leave it for up to about 5-7 days. i noticed the other day i have a small bald patch on my head too whilst i was brushing my hair, its the only one i have noticed but i didnt check for any more. im not entirely sure about my family history regarding PCOS as far as i know no one has it. is it worth getting checked ?? i feel like im constantly at the doctors. Thank you!

Yes of course, they will make you do some blood tests, usually on day 3 of your cycle and also internal scan to check your ovaries. Definitely worth doing it so you can hopefully rule it out.

Were you put on a combined pill or a pop pill?
a pop pill
Combined pill controls the majority of symptoms. If you take 2-3 months on the trot it improves it further. I loved it and have only just come off it.
I had no weight issues in my 20s at all (was diagnosed early 20s) but was diagnosed by a private gynae (I remember being horrified that he thought it was pcos as my arms were so hairy lol - never crossed my mind my arms were hairy!!) am now 50
