So fed up of this weight gain or whatever it is on norethisterone

I've been taking it back to back since 12th November 2019 for heavy prolonged periods my gyne put me on it for 3 months straight but its stopped all periods and bleeding but I've had nasty bloating daily even in the mornings and the weight gain is of the charts 8lbs I total like wtf I hardly eat and always have small portions daily hardly eat junk foods too so I have not got a clue what the hell is happening and why I look bigger is this normal for norethisterone to do to you or what and will it go away once u end the medication

Hello there! I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. Unfortunately anything like norethisterone and contraceptives can cause weight gain as a side effect. Hopefully they will be able to get you off of the norethisterone soon. Are you able to get in touch with your gynae to talk to them about the bloating and weight gain? Maybe they can recommend something else now that the bleeding has stopped? I hope it all settles for you soon x

I see me gyne on the 12th feb but till then I'm on norethisterone I do like it for the bleeding that it stops it but hate the water retention weight it's not nice and the bloat is horrid I will ask for summit else as this is just horrid to go through esp when the weight increase and I'm like how when I dont eat much

Could be diet related too - if you are on FB then I joined this free diet group specifically for pcos ladies and lost 12lb and 4 inches off my waist and 3 off my belly button too and never bloat any more PCOS Diet Support & 30 Day Challenge it is called and so many ladies have had success on it.
