I have been suffering with pcos most of my adult life now 56. I was lucky to have 3 healthy children but i really trying to lose weight find it near on impossible and hair growth still getting it waxed every few weeks. So frustrated went to see my go and was told unless you want to get pregnant nothing we can do for you. Walked out in tears

I am 50 this year and the only diet that worked for me was theanswertopcos diet - I did it about 10 years ago and lost 3 stone and have pretty much maintained it since. I had tried loads of others inc Rosemary Connerly and weight watchers.

I am also still on the combined pill which keeps the hair at bay and for me makes it easier to lose weight too.

Nothing has changed since I was diagnosed 30 years ago sadly and they still think of it as a fertility issue but there are long term consequences as we have a higher risk of diabetes and heart disease.

Thanks for all that great information. I am 41 and it's hard to get wisdom from older ladies because we don't know who has it.

I know, you could well also be starting the early stages of the menopause, I have found it a bit more difficult to lose my holiday weight from Easter, it's almost like I hit 50 and that's it lol.

I would like to keep in touch with you because I don't know one person a little older than me to ask questions too. 🌺
