Hi all I am currently on yasmin pill to control my pcos symptoms its working really good however I'm getting extreme migraines even with the daith piercing that was recommended- also I'm extremely emotional and tearful plus I'm finding it difficult to sleep yet I'm really tired which is so frustrating- I'm a better person on yazmin physically and mentally but these symptoms are driving me crazy - also had further blood tests today one of them measuring my progesterone levels although I'm now on the pill bit of a long shot but does anyone know if these results will be different as I'm on the pill and not natural any advice I'd be really grateful

Thank you

Laura xxx

Yes results will be different

How long have you been on Yasmin? It can take 3-6 months to settle- are the headaches at certain times of the month ? I used to take 2-3 months of Yasmin on the trot as it reduces the symptoms further and as long as you have 4 periods a year it’s fine - there are other alternatives to Yasmin you could try perhaps

Thank you for replying I thought the results would be different why would they send me for blood tests while I'm taking hormones ?? It doesn't make sense- I've been on yazmin since June so only 3 months the migraines are every day I woke up with one this morning its just a nightmare and I'm still getting the sick feeling also do you think it will die down soon ? I'm supposed to be doing that but haven't yet I had my 7 day break and the migraines went in that time but am trying it from this month going forward xxx

Give it another month, there are loads to try so definitely dont stay on this particular one if the migraines are bad

Hiya did your doctor do a full blood panel before you were out on the pill ? Also how was your pcos diagnosed? Have you had transvaginal and ultrasound scans? What were your symptoms before you started on birth control? Sorry for questions but good to know before giving any type of advice.. Like the other lady said, there are other types of birth control you can try if these are not working out. Yasmin is like a mini pill so it's sometimes the one that drs try out first... It can cause migraines in some ppl that's if they don't subside that's usually a sign you need to get advice from doctor about changing it... Let us know how you get on xox
