Excess hair worse after pregnancy (I'm new here)

Hello, my little girl is now 1 and I have therefore stopped breastfeeding and am back on Dianette (the pill) which used to help me massively with excess hair when I was younger. I've been on it two months and there are no signs of the excess hair improving. I have regular electrolysis and laser treatment but my face still has a lot of excess hair including lots of blonde fluffy hairs :(

Feeling very fed up and wonder if anyone could suggest anything I could try ? Or if anyone else has experienced this?

Your hormones wont be back to normal yet from bf and dianette wont make a difference for another 2 months at least. Blond can only be resolved by electrolysis. I have had 22 laser sessions on my face now still have to shave once a week for the blond fluffy ones, they dont seem to come back course though so you could shave. Is it laser or ipl you are having ?

There is a cream called vaniqa that you can get from your GP that can slow down the growth, takes some months to make a difference. Is quite expensive so GP's dont tend to suggest it.

Thank you for you reply! How long do you reckon it takes for hormones to settle after breastfeeding? Guess I thought it would be instant as I was putting artificial hormones in my body via the pill. I have had well laser and electrolysis for years now, and they still come back ! Especially ones on the chin. I tried vaniqa but not sure it worked for me unfortunately.

I think it takes up to 6 months for your hormones to adjust - I dont really remember how long it took tbh (Noah is 13) but I turned into a yeti when I was pregnant, I had read the pregnancy can either increase the hair growth or decrease it and I was so hoping it would decrease - it didnt lol!!

Are you getting the laser done regularly, how many sessions have you had. I would have thought electrolysis would have helped on your chin. I have one final laser session and then I am going to electrolysis as the stubborn goaty ones are appearing again (I havent done any maintenance for about 3 years now). Is your skin/hair the right combination for laser - Im lucky as I am dark haired and olive ish skin so has worked really well for me.

Oh ok! Did you breastfeed? Did the hair get worse during that time? It was weird I was hair at the beginning of the pregnancy then the second trimester It all disappeared then the last trimester it returned, soooo annoying !

Yes laser and electrolysis done regularly. I also had alkaline on my whole face for the blonde hairs but they just grow straight back so not sure I'll bother with that again!

I have fair skin and dark hair so should work well!

It puts me off having another baby because I know the hair will get worse again!

Yes I did bf for about 9 months I think - as it had got so bad hair wise when I was pregnant I think it did start to reduce with bf though, I dont believe there is much you can really do with the blond hairs but as they dont grow back course then I dont mind shaving once a week (twice in the summer as they show up much more!!)
