Hey ladies

I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 14 (at that time I had no symptoms other than my scan showed I had it) i am now 20 and the symptoms have worsened, I have irregular periods either all the time or I go months with out one, I have hairgrowrh on the sides of my face, neck, chest and bad acne on my chin and jaw. I’ve been trying for a baby for 2 years with only one successful fertilisation that ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks. Lost on what to do now

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. Have you been to the doctors about this and asked for a referral to fertility clinic? X

Sorry to hear this.

I would first recommend seeing the doctor and asking for further tests. Blood tests to check your insulin and also if you do have pcos you can ask to be referred to specialist for fertility treatment in most cases.

For your symptoms I would suggest keeping a food diary and see if any certain foods make you worse.

With PCOS you really need to have a healthy diet full of fresh veg and a balanced diet. Exercise is a must.

Trying to lower carbs you eat aswell will result in a difference.

The

Books I reccomend for you to read are

Woman code

And It starts with the egg

It will explain further about every day hormone disruptors which worsen PCOS sufferer and how to help eliminate them.

Wishing you all the best on your journey.

If you are trying to conceive you are limited on what you can do with facial hair, laser does work but is an average of 15 sessions but you cannot do this if you are TTC. There is also a cream called vaniqa which hugely slows down the growth, so doesn't get rid of it but it grows much slower, this is expensive so generally is not mentioned at the GP.

Also remember periods do not mean you are ovulating, and you can ovulate without a period too, look at the fertilityfriends website as taking your temperature is the only way to see accurately if you are ovulating.

I would also ask to be referred to fertility so they they can do further checks, like your tubes etc and get your partners sperm tested as 1/3 of fertility issues are men.
