Hi - I am quite fortunate to have fairly mild PCOS compared to some, it gets worse when my weight increases (which it currently has).
For the past three weeks I have had unbearable PMS, I feel constantly on the verge of my period starting, but every day - nothing. I wake up with sore breasts and they are tender throughout the day to varying degrees. My womb area feels ripe (I liken it to the feeling some women say they get when they can feel that they are ovulating) I definitely am more aware of that area anyway, but wouldn't say I am experiencing cramps or any discomfort. Just a heavy feeling and kind of ripeness is the only way I can think to describe it.
I'm 43 and definitely not pregnant. Has anybody else experienced this? Any advice would be appreciated - not only am I an emotional wreck right now, but I am also stuck in a cycle of emotional eating which is not helping matters either!!
Thanks

It largely depends on my weight, I have gone over a year before without a period, but when my weight is lower and I am exercising regularly, they are about every 40 days or so.
Prior to this I had a heavy but brief period on 2nd March. It felt like I was going to have another around the start of April, all the symptoms started as they usually do, but they have now been going on for 3 weeks with no bleed and no easing of pms/sore breast symptoms.
I’ve not experienced this before, hoping to get an appointment with doctor today, but not holding out much hope for them being any help really. Can’t imagine what the problem is or what they could do about it.
Yes weight can trigger more symptoms for some ladies. Have you put on weight since your last period?
What about menopause in your family - do you know when your Ma or Grandma's started the menopause ?
I've noticed over the last year things are starting to change (I am still on the combined pill as well but thinks are changing so I think I am heading into the menopause).
