No they are purely to force a bleed - obviously you may ovulate but a period doesnt guarantee it.

Thankyou! It hasnā€™t being fully confirmed that I have pcos yet , Doctors said I have it but when I had my scans they said my ovaries looked fine and being on the phone with them today they said nobody will know until I go for my Pre assessment so I donā€™t know if I need the surgery or not , any advice?

Iā€™ve had all of them and it hasnā€™t forced a bleed what shall I do? Iam seeing a nurse tomorrow but donā€™t think she can put me on anything else , I donā€™t want to be on any contraception either! Xx

hiya hun,

I was put on norethisterone when I was having the tests done to find out if I had pcos or not as my afs were refusing to stop, so the gynaecologist put me on norethisterone to help stop them. I also found out that norethisterone is a type of the pill as I googled it a while back as GP told me that they're a type of the pill and I decided to google norethisrone to find out more information on them.

northesterone also helps me with my afs when I take them with another tablet called transanemic acid as my afs can be really painful and heavy sometimes and I get really embarrassed and start worrying about leaking whether I'm at home or not.

Hiya Hun! Iā€™ve had a couple of tests done but Doctors said Iā€™ve definitely got pcos because of the signs what Iā€™ve being having for 4/5 years theyā€™ve done scans and they said I donā€™t have pcos Iā€™ve had 5 scans internal and a normal scan as well Iā€™ve being on the pill before and itā€™s damaged my right breasts with my hormones itā€™s strunk it so there putting me under a specialist at hospital about it and they advised not to take anything but Gynacoligy put me on that tablet they said to force a period but never said itā€™s a contraception tho x

I found out that it is hun as I asked the GP about it as I want to be put back on I along with another tablet as they work better together for me as my afs have a mind of their own as one minute they can be really light and. I hardly need to change my pads or they can be really really heavy and I end up running low or completely out of pads before I can buy anymore.

I actually prefer it when my afs are light as my pads last me longer.

Oh ok Hun! Mine are unpredictable iam 14 days late on , but thatā€™s probably with the implant being removed I donā€™t know tho tbh I was spotting the other day thought I came on finally but I never did taken 2 pregnancy tests my gp advised me to and there was a bright line and a white line like the colour was trying to come out but it never did. Doctors didnā€™t even know what it meant x
