Hello, I am new here although I have suffered with gynae issues for 30 plus years. PCOS was diagnosed about 5 years ago, however, metformin was given to me and that was it. I was told three years ago I had fibroids but then they "disappeared". After having a cancer scare I have now been diagnosed with large fibroids and am finally having a hysterectomy with the removal of both my ovaries. This decision has not been taken lightly, however I now am struggling with pressure on my bladder and very heavy painful periods. I am worried though because it will send me straight into menopause and noone has spoken of how I manage all of this alongside the PCOS symptoms. Any advice please.

Sadly a hysterectomy will not resolve your pcos issue as it is a hormone imbalance and not really ovary related so a very misleading name.
There is very little research on menopause with pcos ladies sadly (I am 48 in a few weeks) but still on the combined contraceptive pill to manage the symptoms.
One of my friends with pcos has just had a hysterectomy a few weeks ago so will let you know how things go !!
