Thanks, do you think it would be to my advantage to try to see Dr harper at the royal liverpool for a consultation as i don't want to ruffle any feathers with the doctors at aintree hospital although Dr harper does seem to be a lot more informed .

Sorry to butt in. I would be interested in Rheumatoloigst in this sort of area, Cheshire, Liverpool etc.

Local info re. specialists would be most helpful.

I'm also slightly confused if temporal arteritis is considered as vasculitis. It looks like different Rheumatologists have their narrow interest in certain disease but not others etc. This makes it essential to know which specialists cover which type(s)......

Dr Janice Harper is at Liverpool. In fact it was only a few weeks ago she organised a Vasculitis Masterclass at Warrington discussing large vessel Vasculitis. Takayasu's Arteritis and Giant Cell Arteritis (Temporal Arteritis). It was attended by 50 people most of them doctors. Some doctors do specialise in certain types of Vasculitis such as ANCA Vasculitis but some Doctors cover many different types. I think Dr Harper has patients with different types of Vasculitis.

hope this is helpful
