Latest information - COVID19 - Government Publication March 21st Guidance on Shielding and Protecting those who are Vulnerable
Reading the "extremely vulnerable" list, I would presume people on a maintenance dose of immuno-suppressants would be on the regular vulnerable list (along with 70+ year olds), but patients having a flare and taking therapeutic strength drugs would be in this "extremely vulnerable" list?
I'm certainly in the extreme group having had a kidney transplant last year. I have some antibodies against the donor kidney, so I'm on 3 different, strong immuno-suppressants/anti-rejection drugs.
My wife has just joined me on 12 weeks isolation. It is unpaid, but her employer told her that as soon as Gov state that she must self isolate due to me, then she will get paid. This document specifically states that she does not need to isolate to protect me.
She will now not get paid.
The busiest, crowded places in the UK are supermarkets.
The first place where people go, when starting to feel COVID-19 symptoms, is often the supermarket to stock up on supplies before they are too unwell to shop and self isolate.
My wife works at a supermarket. How am I meant to "Shield" myself when everyday I will be sharing a house with such a high risk person??
She can wash their hands and have a full body decontamination, but if she has contracted COVID-19, there is no way I can avoid it.
