Hi Lorraine it seems early flare up i was on chemo from Jan 2016 to May 2016 and did ok on Azothioprine till Nov 2016 then my consultant started me on Rituximab in Dec 2016 had 2 shots which put me back into remission and now going to have two more doses starting next week to keep me on the straight and narrow as it were.Still positive though i have a good consultant team who keep me well informed and sites like this where we can talk and get support from people in the same or similar situations.

Hi Lorraine - Shame that you had flare so soon - I was diagnosed with Wengeners Vasculitis in 2013 and after a period on Cyclophosphamide/ Prednisolone & then Aziathiaprine/ steroids I remained in remission until December 2016 however multiple flares leading to hospitalisation since then prompted my excellent Consultancy team to switch to Rituximab in May this year.

After 2 infusions I can honestly say that I feel the best I have for some time regaining some energy and motivation to get back out doing some gardening and other things that previously had been too exhausting. Joint pains have subsided and an irratating dry cough that I had for ages has gone. I'm no longer on the Aziathiaprine or Amlodopine and the Prednisolone has been stepped down to 15mgs daily from 60mgs with a view to getting to a baseline of 5mgs.

Like Keith I remain positive and certainly would recommend Rituximab if it's ever recommended however appreciate its early days with your condition and I guess there's a certain element of them getting your medication right.

Hi lauriescott, yes I was disappointed that I had this flare up so soon. My consultant is on holiday this week , hopefully I will see him soon after he returns. I also have been looking to change my diet and going to take turmeric tablets , due their anti inflammatory ect. Glad to hear you guys are ok . My best wishes Lorraine
