The FT3 is too low. It's not even mid-range. Most people find they need it up the top of the range to feel well. I should think you need an increase. 50 mcg is a very small dose if you are on T3 only.
thank you for your answer, perhaps thats why I still have a lot of symptoms! which the Endo wrote in the letter to GP but he did not want to up the dose,he was so up-tight about me reading my B/test results (leave that to people who know about these things!!)I don't have another appointment until July,so I shall have to ride the storm out I think.
What happens if they up the dose and then I go out of range?I keep a check of Obs if I don't get palpitations etc is it OK to carry on or is it strict to stay in range for T3?
What a cheek your GPs got! Leave that to people who know about these things??? Well, he certainly doesn't know anything about them! lol You have a legal right not only to read your results, but to have a copy of them! And, frankly, that's what you should be doing: getting copies of all your results. See how he likes that!!! lol
They'd have to up the dose an awful lot for it to go out of range, it is so very low. Ranges are really just arbitary guides, it's only doctors that get paranoid about them People that treat themselves just go on increasing, a little bit at a time, until all their symptoms are gone. If they should take a little bit too much, it's not a catastrophe, the next day they just take the dose down again.
