Hi Although your T4 and TSH lok fine, I would not assume the Free T3 is, it should be with low TSH but is not always so. I would ensure I have that and vit D ( hormonal ) tested and also glucose, diabetes in early stages have this sort of symptoms and is autoimmune and hormonal.Ferritin and B12 + Folic acid would be a good idea too.
Thanks Jackie, my GP has never tested my T3 its only ever been basic thyroid but as I have been complaining of still feeling really rubbish he did a full blood (but obviously not) as T3 has not been tested, (I dont actually know if Ive ever been T3 checked) and then tells me everything normal, but surely he would be looking for other answers as to why Im not right. Ive told him til Im blue in the face because I suffer from food allergies - (silver birch allergy which crosses with many foods) I cannot eat a varied diet so surely he should be checking for vitamins
With what you say, that could be Caeliac disease,( autoimmune,)there is a specific blood test but you must take the "bad" foods for 2 weeks before, even then not a 100% reliable test, but some times shows.Or it could be pancreatic enzymes ( stool test Faecal Elastase), then you have enzymes for Gp for pancreas to take 20mins before food. It takes a while to help. The same ones can be bought at Holland Barrat, they are very safe as not drugs.
Regarding the Free T3 ,which was always tested but now a lot of NHS Labs will not do it. Some GP`s will ,if you pay for it about £10 usually , ask him. Otherwise., as I and my endo consider it essential I pay for it through TUK at Blue Horizon, the intermediate(TSH T4 and Free T3 ) test, quote TUK 10 then is costs £61. , very easy. Lots more tests, all NHS + more on main site. Results to you e mail, because a well known Lab ( TDL) all docs are happy with them.thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/te. Only send blood MON to Thurs because of the post.
