I'm in agony, was told by doctor to take codeine and that it should go away but it's been a week now and not feeling any better. I'm waiting for a date to have half my thyroid removed because of a lump and feel pretty rubbish anyway.

Has anyone had lymph node pains and would they be associated to thyroid problems?
Hi I'm sorry your going through this. I have some pain in lymph nodes but not severe endo said was normal, had some blood tests as nodes are swollen and turned out I've had glandular fever and cytomegalovirus in the past and recently had parvovirus. Have you tried fish oil with high EPA and selenium?? May help for any inflammation? x
Hi, thanks so much for the tip I will try the fish oil. I've told the specialist about the pain and he said where they're swollen is usually due to an infected cut or dermatitis, but I have neither. Hoping for some relief soon as it's really getting me down.
Can you phone your Endo's secretary and leave a message with his secretary and say how painful your neck is. Hopefully she may get back to you with a message.
I had and still have painful swollen lymph nodes after my thyroidectomy 14 days ago. The surgeon told me that they are in very close proximity tO the thyroid and that it was to be expected. Don't know if that will help you but hope you get some relief soon
