Has anyone ever established a link between Thyroid "mis-function" and mercury toxicity. i.e., Amalgam leaching of mercury. I am seriously thinking of reducing the amalgam in my mouth. Certainly some of the symptoms are similar.

Amalgam
Sorryy, I can't answer your question - just to say though as mercury is poisonous it's obviously not a good thing to have in your mouth. I'm also looking at getting rid of my amalgam too. I'd suggest you do get rid of yours if you can.
If you havn't already...check out the following link and watch the video smoking teeth = poison gas.
I read somewhere that your better to leave well alone if they are not breaking up , as you don't want to disturb the mercury . Don't know how true that is though ???
Amalgam has been a point for discussion since the 60s a few of my friends had theirs removed and had them replaced with some sort of ground shell sounds weird I know but it worked. it's very expensive to get it all removed and replaced.

Hi,
There is a piece in Dr Peatfields book about it.
I have read on another site that the american dentists would never put them in there families teeth, but have to sign a disclaimer, so that if they admitted to it being bad for people they would be struck off and sued.
As mentioned in previous comments there have been a variety of scientific papers on the subject, but its like a lot of these things (inc Levo), money talks.
I have also read that when amalgam fillings are removed they should be treated as a Hazchem material, the dentist and subject should wear masks etc, thet doesn't seem to happen in this country. However, whenever I have had any fail I have opted for replacement with white composite.
