I posted something on here a week or so ago because I noticed that I could get a bit more sleep (which helped the despression) when I changed my diet to completely fresh food. Coeliac disease was suggested in one of the replies, so when I went to see the Endo I explained all this and he has done a blood test for a few vitamins and a anti-body test called EM1, does anyone know if the EM1 test is for coeliac or thyroid anti-body? I forgot to clarify this before the end of the appointment!
I really can't wait for the results I really hope they show something, I ate a bad diet leading up to my blood test in the hope that whatever is wrong would be more likely to show up, but it has meant that I have spend the last 3 nights with only about 4 hours sleep, so I really have to get back into the fresh good diet again this weekend to get my sleep back

Yes the key tests are: Tissue transglutaminase antibody (shortened to 'tTGA') AND Endomysial antibody (shortened to 'EMA') as people sometimes don't display the EMA. New NICE guidelines were issued recently which confirmed that all patients with a family history of certain auto-immune diseases should automatically be screened for Coeliac Disease. This includes auto-immune thyroid as there is a very strong link between Coeliac Disease and Thyroid.
See our recent blog post on our HU group on gluten sensitivity which shows how new research is leaning towards some people being better minus gluten.
