hi does anyone know if a test on adrenal functon is neccessarry or would it be ok to take something to support adrenals without diagnosis just to see if there is an improvement in T4/T3 conversion. if not where and how would I get the adrenal test done.

Hi yes I would be interested to know as well, Im thinking of coming off levothyroxine and trying something for my adrenals as ive been under alot of stress
I don't think its a good idea to stop taking your thyroxine , maybe try some herbal things for your adrenals !! do a google search and have a look there are lots of things out there , its not wise to stop taking meds without DR advise .......
I had various blood tests done for adrenal problems when I was under a tremendous amount of stress last year. They all came back ok though I felt that because of the stress my thyroxine was unable to do its job. I went to my local herbalist who gave me Calcium Pantothenate. It's a water soluble B complex vitamin which helps the body release energy from food and is required for the production of immune system cells. It is also needed for the manafacture of stress hormones. It may help you and it is ok to take with your thyroxine. Hope that helps.
