Any "Good" Endos in the Country?: Would be... - Thyroid UK
Any "Good" Endos in the Country?
Alli, I can't offer any suggestions for a particular endo I'm afraid. Maybe you would get some helpful pointers if you explained why you feel the need to find an endo and why you want T3?
I was diagnosed 15yrs ago with hypo and recently the T4 meds do not seem to be working. I am wondering if I am not converting to T3 anymore. I have seen an endo several times over the past year but I don't feel that he is very interested as to why my hypo symptoms have returned - he wasn't even interested in finding out my FT3! Because my TSH is supressed his alarm bells have started ringing, and he has stopped listening to the patient in front of him who is feeling dreadfull. I understand that people can not name endos on here, but I wondered if there were a list of practitioners who may be recommended from othes on the site who had positive experiences -perhaps an endo who is open to the possibility that T4 alone does not fit all.
Alli
Alli, If your TSH is suppressed, the labs usually also test your FT4. Do you know if FT4 is at the top of the range?
Thyroid UK does keep a list of recommended doctors - maybe they will know of one in your area. If you go to the main website thyroiduk.org, you can contact them for details.
Alli,
you can get your free t3 tested, with lab 21 for less than £20.
at least you will know if you are converting the t4 to t3.
