Too much of a reduction!! Never change by more than 25mcg unless having a flare up... Initially I'd want to drop by 12.5mcg a day or alternate 75/100 for 6-8 weeks and then retest

I'm thinking you have only been on Levo for a couple of months so things are still settling in, I would recommend only ever make small changes and leave plenty of time to settle again and find your sweet spot.... Dr's will have you yoyoing with changes that are far to big 😬

was test early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test?

Reduce dose only in small steps …..suggest you ask for 75mcg and 100mcg on alternate days

Retest in 8-10 weeks

And ask that GP test vitamin D, folate ferritin and B12

What vitamin supplements are you taking

No it wasn't....I have just had those other tests on the same day...When I can I will post...Iron was low despite being on B12 injections tests to check for internal bleeding arranged 🌻

B12 is to maintain good B12

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a separate B12 supplement as well as a separate vitamin B Complex to keep all B vitamins in balance

Then once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Igennus B complex popular option. Nice small tablets. Most people only find they need one per day. But a few people find it’s not high enough dose and may need 2 per day and/or may need separate methyl folate couple times a week

Post discussing different B complex

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

endocrinenews.endocrine.org...

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12 if last test result serum B12 was below 500 or active B12 (private test) under 70

When was vitamin D last tested

How much vitamin D are you taking

If your iron is low you need FULL iron panel test including ferritin

You may need iron supplement

Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test

If taking any iron supplements stop 3-5 days before testing

Good heavens 😳 I was told not to take supplements except the magnesium for severe cramps in a lot of my muscles !!!

Get your GP to test folate, vitamin D and full iron panel including ferritin

For levothyroxine to work well and convert from inactive Ft4 to active hormone Ft3 it’s important to maintain GOOD vitamin levels

No other medications or vitamin supplements within 2 hours of Levo

B vitamins best taken in morning after breakfast

Magnesium best taken afternoon or evening at least 4 hours away from Levo

Vitamin D tablets at least 4 hours away from levothyroxine

Iron at least 4 hours away from levothyroxine and two hours away from other supplements

Always get TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested together

It’s the other way around

Lansoprazole is a PPI (proton pump inhibitor)

All PPI lower stomach acid and result in lower vitamin levels, especially B12 and magnesium

You have to take PPI because you are taking aspirin

PPI protects stomach lining from aspirin

PPI and increased risk T2 diabetes

All medications need to be at least 2 hours away from levothyroxine

other medications

Statin may not be needed when thyroid levels are well managed

Citalopram same applies
