Hi On NP ndt last 3 yrs & not most of my ord/hashi's life (35yrs) Labs done 5/24 on 105mg:
TSH .04 (.36-3.74)
FT4 .55 (.7-1.5)
FT3 3.58 (2.18-3.98) I could feel this was too high -I do well @2.7-2.9
labs late October 2024:
TSH .014
FT4 .55
FT3 2.0 I could feel this was too low, but waited for (don't know!)
labs late Jan25
TSH .01
FT4 .9
FT3 2.6
Any logical explanation of why my FT3 would have rise .6 in 3mos w/no changes in meds dose, supplements, timing of labs. My ferritin has been low & I have worked on that since early Dec. I understand iron has a place in the conversion of T4 to T3. Does this apply to people taking ndt? My thought is since ndt has both T4,3,2,1 then it is already converted? Also working to bring up the folate, etc.
As always....thank you!

what an interesting study this is, I think raising ferritin really does impact yes, I agree with you there. One of the times I’ve been over replaced (or it might have been hashi swing) was when I raised ferritin for the first time in years and my body swung into action. Another consideration is seasonality or holidays, I’ve noticed a slightly reduced need when the days get a little longer or the house is warmer. Well done on small adjustments and well timed testing and working on those vits. It shows how it pays off. You have the data to prove it 👏
Thank you, thank you, thank you very much! It will be an additional interest in this forever journey of balancing out important levels & how it impacts the thyroid levels. Have you any knowledge of the ndt needing conversion from T4 to T3? Very clear when on levo & lio is the regimen, but not so on ndt.
I defer to radd on NDT specifics, but my understanding is your body will convert the T4 in NDT to T3 then T2 etc as it would if you had separate T4 and T3.
