I am on 100 mcg of thyroxine the gp just put in my records that results were normal. Tsh.is now 1.2 I weigh approx 19 stone after weight gain last year. I feel chilled most of the day I think that my dosage needs increasing but am thinking Dr won't agree . My walking has improved slightly in that my balance and stride is prob better still not able walk far as knee is numb and gets tiring . I hope there might be a further improvement should I get a bit more increase .at 1.2 not sure there's much room to lower much more. I feel a bit brighter but know I am not t my best . I am sticking it out to complete 8 weeks more on this dosage as I read it takes that long to get the full effect . I feel that Drs aren't bothered as left me without even discussing how I felt at 100 mcg. I would have liked to have said no I don't feel well. I think I need more. But didn't get the chance. Doesn't feel there's anyone dealing with my health just a long battle to get my life back. Sadly I felt much the same before when I took it. 20 yes ago. In the end I had no choice but to come off it as no-one wanted to know once you didn't just take the pills and feel better less tired maybe. I know I will have to contact g p again. But I Don't know which one as always a diff one or one I haven't ever seen. Wish there was someone who actually followed up on things instead just assuming all is well as reading said so.

Suggest you reread all replies

Push GP for “trial “ increase to 112.5mcg per day
Retest correctly in 2-3 months

have you ever tried privately testing your thyroid to get FT3 and FT4? These would help understand if the Levo is being converted optimally.
Are you doing everything right to optimise absorption of the 100mcg?
Leave an hour before food tea coffee etc? No iron or magnesium for 4 hours / vits for 2 hours after?
I have the same, a different GP every single time, they must have a revolving door at the surgery staff entrance 🤣
Another thing to try is to list your symptoms, cross reference these with the thyroid UK symptoms list here
thyroiduk.org/signs-and-sym...
and then ask GP if my thyroid is normal, what is causing this?… please refer me to …. Name whichever departments you think might help. ENT wrote to my GP to say my FT3 needed to be higher to stop reflux and to trial higher dose. Podiatry say my ankle is better when on higher dose, Gynae say cycle is more normal when on higher dose, radiology said thyroiditis so badly managed that CT scan with contrast not recommended needed MRI, GP was actually embarrassed about the last one.
Keep battling! Don’t hesitate to take up space and demand your care 🙏
Hi Thanks for all replies. .I have had full blood counts vitamins tested yes least twice since last January. I think. Have taken b 12 and d3 as middling results Or lower just in case. I am pretty sure I need increasing and yes I do take thyroxine 100 mcg before bed then had test about 945 next day with no drinks or eating until I got back home I paid private test Inc t3 t4. And antibodies the tsh. Reading was also about 1.2 in the private test and I made sure hadn't eaten or drunk anything before that test. . Have been sticking it out best I can. Nothing like as bad as I was before so that's something. Frustrating when you.think you could improve if Drs just actually asked you how feeling instead of just writing normal on your test results. Doesnt really make you feel there's anyone actually interested. I havent said I felt better as just been expecting increase with my body weight to.125 or 150.. Think.it would take my tsh to 0.00 though. Or slightly over. Drs will see 1.2 as perfect I am sure. As I read that once normal you.should wait 8 weeks to feel full benefit I have been trying last til end Feb then ask if I get retested or is that it. ? Noones said . Just seems wrong to just go by readings and say normal. But I know that's what happens to a lot of us. Thanks for your replies. Will try get to the point of next review and push to get more if I can. X

In your last post you noted test results as:
TSH 1.02 (0.35 -5.5)
T3 4.9 (3.1 -6.8)
T4 19.2 (11.9 -21.6)
…but as SlowDragon outlined in your last post, your TSH could be higher with an early morning test /leaving your usual dose of Levo until after the early morning blood test. GPS are often led by TSH results, so I would try to follow this protocol on your next test.
When was the last time you tested key thyroid vitamins (ferritin, folate, B12 and vit D)?
Regarding feeling chilled...
This may be just me - I can't remember reading about anyone else having the same experience...
When I optimised my iron and ferritin I started feeling warmer in the cold. I'd suffered with the cold all my life until then.
